Grown of Oak does have "at will" in the text, so that's relatively clear at least.

I do love how the wild & plant empathy feats specify druids can communicate and receive answers from animals/plants in addition to diplomacy skills. Now its clear you don't have to roll for basic interactions

I like Wildsong specifically because Druidic always felt... "cult-y?" to me. Very "we're a secret society and this is our secret language to go along with our super secret-est handshakes." Which is hyperbole on my part, of course, but I do like that there's now what I feel like is a better reason for druids from all over the world to have the same language.

@@HenshinFanatic Who actual druids were and what they are in a fantasy setting isn't any more 1-to-1 than the alchemists.

My gripe is WOTC decided to mess around and find out, resulting in Paizo wanting to divest from a company with unstable leadership. Wild Song, in my opinion, is a small piece necessary to help justify an entire re-print of a game that had been out for 4 years... when the expected shelf-life would have been 15+ years. I respect Paizo for going out of their way to make PF2E a more unique game system and making our re-purchases more value-added.

Leaf and Storm orders both lost a focus point compared to pre-remaster (they used to start with two, now they just get 1). Edit: also Untamed now starts with two

Because focus points were changed to be tied explicitly to number of Focus Spells (up to the cap of 3). 1 Focus Spell = 1 FP, 2 Focus Spells = 2 FP, 3 Focus Spells = 3 FP (and can not gain more FP).

I haven’t had a chance to look yet. But Maestro muse still gets two, right? One for Counter Performance (the one everyone gets) and one for Lingering Performance.

Focus spells are by definition "non-cantrip". There are plenty of those that specifically target animal companions: Heal Animal, Magic hide, Enlarge Companion, Beastmaster's Trance, and more, as well as regular (helpful) spells you could cast on a creature. You could get a decent mileage from Instinctive Support, if that's the style you're going for.

I think at the very 'least', Instinctive Support can reliably synergize with low action cost spells, like Protect Companion, which is basically a Shield that you cast on your animal companion. It's a single-action cantrip, so you could pretty reliably substitute out the Command an Animal action with Protect Companion any time you intend to use your companion's support ability. Other more niche situations may arise, but at least there is that consistent baseline.

Hey! Great videos :) Can you comment how if Wizard's Form Retention feat is in the book and how they fixed it? It used to use Animal Form as example (a Primal only spell), and it was useless - too nerfed and long for combat, too situational and short for out-of-combat usage.

Commenting mostly for the algorithm, but also I saw that you were live, but it was the same time as RfC so I missed it.

Was there any clarification/wording changes on Untamed Form and Animal Form spell to use your own attack modifier to get the +2 status bonus to attack?

I find it bad that Voice of Nature still requires to go MAD on CHA. 11:20 Barkskin gives you a Weakness to Fire. One that is 50% higher then your Resistance. This is such an issue, you can dimiss the spell as free action after taking fire damage. 13:25 The did Support abilities change? Only people with PC1 can tell us that. Most were on a Strike. And this Spell will likely be a 2 Action already, it does seem pretty weak.

What would be the interection if you use raise menhir and choose arcane but somehow an occult spellcaster cast a spell that also is on the arcane list?

Spells take on the trait of the tradition they are casted with so in this case it would be an occult spell and unaffected by Raise Menhir

I think Wild Song is an excellent name for the Druidic language. I also think characters can still call that Druid language freely as a reference point, while Wild Song serves better as a proper name.

Honestly to me it make Druid seem more like a Disney princess then a religion. It just kind of whimsical feel to it that fit better for the Fay then a religion order all about secrecy.

@@kenpachiramasama1139 Exactly. Which is absolutely perfect for the Druid as put forth by Paizo. Outside of the Druidic Language lore, a holdover directly from the first edition’s reliance on D&D 3.5, the PF2 Druid has exactly zero support via lore OR feats for anything resembling a “secret” character or society. Whereas it has numerous feats tied to the Fey, and direct connections tied to class description. Paizo has clearly chosen to lean more heavily on the primal aspect of the Druid in this edition. I applaud them for finally cutting the otherwise dead weight that felt, quite frankly, like an albatross of other editions hanging around the class’ neck.

I like the interpretation that Wild Song is the druids' proper name for it; outsiders would still more than likely just refer to it as Druidic or something similar (if they even know about it in the first place)

I wonder if they cleaned up shapeshifting for druids

I'm not a fan of removing green tongue. If any class shouod be able to get the constant effects of the speak with animals or speak with plants spells, it should be druids. This isnt even game breaking imho since certain ancestries can get the effects of constant speak with animals by level 5 (Gnomes and Sprites).

I have never understood the logic behind Druid's not able to use metal. Is metal not from nature?

Deafened condition gives any action with the Auditory trait a 20% fail chance. This means most spells.

It's also important to note that in the remaster, all spells now have the auditory trait built into them.

Honestly, wildin word sounds much better as a replacement for druidic than wild song does. Why not call it something like wild speech I don't get it..... Druids don't sing generally speaking.

the problem with "Druidic being more from the ideas of druids" is that pretty much everything you've heard about druids is from DnD, not from the priestly community advisors of pre-christian Ireland, it's complicated (and a bit racist), a lot of the archeological evidence is just gone
