All Change at Longleat: Season 1 Episode 2 | Full Documentary

A revealing new series that goes behind the scenes at one of Britains most extraordinary aristocratic estates.
Lord Bath has handed control of the 190 million estate to his eldest son Ceawlin. But challenges lie ahead, as he and his newly-titled wife, Emma, take on a staff of hundreds, two villages and a safari park, along with the enormous Elizabethan family mansion.
In this episode, the handover gets off to a difficult start. Ceawlin upsets Lord Bath when he moves in, and the couple stop speaking to one another. In the village on the estate, theres further unrest, after Ceawlin puts up the villagers rents.
Meanwhile, Emma settles into her new life as Lady Weymouth. She now has the run of the 130-room historic house but she must get used to sharing her home with a daily stream of visitors.
Over in the safari park, the animal keepers watch the family from afar, and wonder how Ceawlin will compare to his father. Lord Bath is a flamboyant, controversial figure. Although now in retirement, he continues to enjoy a famously open marriage. Various wifelets still visit when his wife is away.
Hugh Bonneville narrates.

So many get into attacking and bullying for personal looks or choices about looks, which is free will of the individual. Look how superficial that is when people go on about the looks of another person. Appears the Mother did a good job of protecting Emma from peer pressure and supporting Emma in being very well invested in her own self rather than out chasing men and materialism. She has been brought up very well even though very wealthy is how it looks to me from the Mother's time shared with her daughter and raising her daughter to 27 years old. Nice job, MOM! She deserves to do whatever she wants to with her self after so much given to raise a wonderful young woman in the world. We need more of both of them in this world, rich or poor. A dedicated loving parent is a blessing on earth.

Lady Emma seems to be a lovely woman. It is nice that she made the Cake in Episode 1 and now she is planning to produce fresh vegetables and products. It has to be terribly boring at times for her. i feel very sad for the Younger Lord..he looked quite sad when asked about his childhood.. Wealth is not everything, and yet there is the need to preserve the History of the Estate , and the costs would be prohibitive.. This Documentary makes it much clearer why so many of the stately homes have been demolished..The costs of maintaining an Estate like this , I would image, necessitate the Estate be open to the Public.

His father seems pretty selfish imo.. like how he was angry about them taking down his murals and putting it up elsewhere, why wouldn't they make their apartment to their tastes? Why would they want dark garish paintings in his bohemian style in their faces as they eat breakfast. Plus the whole wifelets thing... So gross

He was employed to be a mechanic on the railroad and shouldn't have been expected to put in extra hours with no pay just because Bob thought everyone should 'help each other'. It is rare to hear such an absolutely materialistic prayer by the prayer leader in a supposed House of the Lord. That was very ungodly to be sure. They did not pray for the wellbeing of anyone, or fellowship of followers, but the moneymaking maanagement of resources, and the ends to rivalry. That tells a lot about what it's like there when the Leader of Faith is led to pray about money matters over the spirit of wellbeing. Didn't sound like much of an uplifting for Sunday Service, but more on the job bureaucracy. No rest or rejoicing for the overworked, right?

Actually it's not surprising at all because as an American I can tell you that in the South , especially in Texas some of their most well-known preachers are very very wealthy televangelists ... they've turned it into big money and live much more extravagantly than anyone would ever expect a man of the cloth to live ... often their wives wear way too much makeup and look like high-class call girls . I think a lot of them are greedy and are not as Christian like in their hearts and souls as they would have us believe . I think one of the few honest ones is probably Pat Robertson , The 700 Club ... his shows are here on KZread . I used to watch his program and they're actually very entertaining because somehow he gets news that we are not always getting here in America on all the other networks .... also his stories are mind-blowing , many of them are like some of the best movies where a person has hit rock bottom , become a hardcore drug addict or is in prison or has become a hooker ... someone who has lost EVERYTHING , including self respect ... and then they find Redemption ... ... even if a person isn't a Christian or doesn't believe in Christ the stories are usually very entertaining and sometimes actually very gritty and shocking . Pat Robertson is very old now and he does not look well , I think he had a stroke . I wish I could make him younger and healthier again as he has a lot of wisdom and is not an extremist ... the Gent is down-to-earth , a little bit feisty , and has wonderful common sense . I can't picture him , as successful as he is , writing a book about being a good servant In the name of The Lord and yet perhaps not being as kind to employees and the little people as much as one can be towards others ... I don't think he would espouse that ; but if you know anything about the preachers here in America and the lavish lifestyles and massive homes ... religion and what they called The Good Book is a huge industry in America but especially the South ... and you can tell that guy is from the south and I'm pretty sure he's from in or around Texas . Having Longleat as his client , he really knows he hit Pay Dirt ... Heaven help them all because they just might need real blessings from above to keep them from being led astray resulting in more bad decisions being made that will drag Longleat down and suck the wonderful magic out of the place .

Most ppl dont understand that sometimes you have to participate in any other work that you can as part of the management as long as it it still within the work hours and not overtime, and not a hard labor. What Lee is asked to do is not hard labor, driving the train. And sometimes maybe the real truth is management is trying to maintain finances in order for it to survive. The reason the western world does not progress now as fast as asia, it is because of rigid style and over calculative mentality towards work. The more reason you should enjoy what you do. Not just work for the money.

#fatimahaidara. Totally agree! I bet if the park makes more profits THEY get more. However, they are employing people, providing entertainment and education to visitors, they are open and welcoming. It's likely their income is being able to live in beautiful surroundings. They don't have many in the way of personal servants. So all-and-all I think they're good people. Regarding Lee, those who work for Queen Elizabeth don't get paid as much as you'd think either. They basically hire people who literally worship the "Throne" and see it as their patriotic duty. Just don't try to put your religion on anyone. I say that as a Christian. Love your life right and fair and people will notice and can "choose" to want to know more.

And that is why African elephants are seldom used for hard labor or for circus, I learned. Instead, they are killed for their tusks which an Asian elephant can also suffer from.
