It's a beast

Last year decided to play again this game and beat it with the 206 because its my first car in real life, and it just felt amazing, i discovered that if you downshift before the turn it triggers some rubberbanding like the IA. Great content! Always i thought why no one did this type of videos because i spent a lot of hours doing it by myself.

Very nice video, I can tell that you've put a lot of effort in it just by how different the visual tuning of each car is. Also, a little touches like the song name overlay in Underground UI style don't go unnoticed :) My favourite car is a Honda Integra with stage 2, 5-speed transmission, its such a joy to drive both in game and IRL - it has some serious legacy on Tsukuba circuit. At one point I was seriously considering getting myself one of these as a daily driver. Both the game and the car shall never be forgotten, there will be no other quite like it!

Nice vid, NFS-U was one of the first games I played ever and I didn't pay much attention to such a details and thought cars are pretty much the same. Now I see how skilled driver ranks them

the integra with stage 1 drivetrain provides the best driving experience though, the acceleration is insane despite the top speed is 283kmh but youre always on the limiter

I always thought the Mazda MX-5 is one of the best and chose it or the Honda Civic as starter car. I agree, the MX-5 has lots of wheelspin in later stages and is not that easy to handle in drift races. Very interesting video I considered to do this myself but well, it takes some time, so thank you for the comparison.

Yeah the RX7 is my favorite car in this game too it's just so badass and even though it doesn't sound like a rotary it still has that threatening sound that you know is gonna be fast and my god that down shift on this car when you slow down for corners is just demonic and just purrs. The Miata is my second favorite car and that car is so much faster then it should be and sounds badass too

I have a feeling that if you added in the Engine + Turbo unique upgrades from the career, the RX-7 and the 206 would be closer

Rule of thumb: Never, ever trust the stat bars.

Seems like the civic has that real life B-series 5th gear issue lol😂

My 350Z is set up specifically to drift in non drift events, it's really good at it and it's really fun. You can make any car drift on city tracks if you don't do suspension upgrades, stock tires help but it's mainly suspension and of course stability control off. Problem is the higher ride height makes the want to flip over so for a skinny car like the 240SX its terrible DX. The wide body might help it tho I haven't actually tested that

This game doesnt make sense miata is basically top tier car and the performance of newly acquired ones rarely ever is better than mx5 😂😂😂

I remembered playing with the supra when i had a ps2 in 2006 i think and getting frustrated with losing so many races I never finished the game then and now i am playing it with 206 and i love it

LMAO the supra in U1 stuck in a timeloop before it started getting overhyped by F&F. But seriously it's very heavy compared to all its samurai friends. In real life at factory specs its just about the slowest

I didn't expect from 206 that it is damn fast. 206 is like race car. I tried all cars 3 tracks 3 laps. 206 was faster than rx7 in some tracks. Also it is one starting car. Amazing

spoilers does affect df, without wing cars tend to jump on curbs higher and in more unpredictable way

I just had a feeling no.1 was to be Mazda RX7

is there a big difference to this if playing on a keyboard? I've just tried RX-7 and it feels horible, it just does not want to rotate, back snaps in weird places all the time, and there is not enough power to justify it. As opposed to MX-5, that can take any corner at seemingly any speed

Rx-7 is a difficult beast to tame, but it is the best all rounder Integra, being a FWD, is another alternative, worse handling, but it's more predictable I'm a keyboard racer since 2003, and it takes skill to stay at the top on keyboard (not that i know of it, hahaha)

@@yobrethren Honestly, I've just completed the campaign with MX-5 only. I've tried all the recommendations, but for me personally, Miata is the one and only S-tier car. I guess I don't have enough skill for RX-7, and I am ok with it

@@someonewithsomename yeah, miata is just planted to the ground, it's also my car of choice most of the time (though at the beginning Neon is very good with it's good top speed)

Everyone and I mean everyone knows that the best overall car in the game is the Nissan Skyline. Its base stats alone trump many tuned cars and its the only car in the game to give you an automatic early start/lead.

The Nissan Skyline is even too fast for some drag races, it's impossible to make certain parts because the car just goes too fast haha. Especially in that stage where the road splits into two sections, one higher and 1 lower.

The lancer is supposed to be AWD but in this one they made it front wheel??? But I'm impressed that the Peugeot 206 is better than the mx 5

It's not an Evo. Those are AWD. The Lancer in Underground 1 is a Lancer ES and those are FWD.

Does the game intentionally screw with your gears mid race while driving in auto to force driving in manual?? You mentioned you turned of “stability control”. I’m going to give that a try.

Well, they are wrong.

Tried my self. All other cars are literally undrivable in this game, you can’t keep them stable. The 206 is fast in acceleration and turns well

Nice video but you didn´t put into consideration that putting a widebody on any car changes it´s handling, if I were you I´d do a lap with and one without the body kit with every car and then compare the best lap times

I've tested that before and any body modifications including widebody kits nearly did anything to lap times.

​@@Marcy2200 There are some very experienced players saying that it does affect the handling but all of them are "double tapping" keyboard players. BTW you can now use the "double steering" technique with a gamepad, which changes everything: The Integra is the new king! You can find the hot lap ranking by searching "underground stats car rankings" (Google), should be in the top 3 results. check it out

Really sucks how bad the Eclipse is in people's opinions because that's my favorite car

Nfsu none of the cars are overpowered within each other. Even with the stats all kooking slightly different. Because of the rubberbanding i could never tell in these games the fastest cars which was a good thing.

Nope, these cars are in fact FWD. I get the confusion about the lancer but this is the ES model which isnt an EVO.

Tiburon is FWD, even its sequel Underground 2 confirmed it. Lancer in first Underground is not an Evo. It is Lancer ES which is the lower trim and used for normal family sedan. Afaik only Evo trim have AWD for Mitsu Lancer.

Dude, you'r doing something wrong. from my "old days" when i was playing this masterpice online and trying to set records, there were 2 cars on top: Rx-7 and Miata, followed by : Acura Integra and Peugeot 206. Peugeot was my favorite, but could not hold a candle to Rx-7. If you would see something else in the top... that would be a cheat. oo and i forgot, "wall rides" were a thing in this game. PS: i found my spreadsheet with some times taken like 2 years ago for some tracks.

The thing is, I never wallride. That's something I put in the dirty driving category. All my laps are clean hard racing and trust me when I say that I've pushed every single car to its limits.

you have to take this game how it was and wall rides were a part of it. and the pushing part, i don't see you use the shortcuts, use the lines how you should. tell me what upgrades you've used from TJ cuz they'r verry important and i will play without wallrides on the same track and i tell you that the timrs will be verry diffrent... like civic will be way up there from what i remember.

@@kallays These are just regular cars with stage 3 performance parts, no special upgrades. The reason I didn't use shortcuts is to allow a big braking zone right before the Chinatown area and a high-speed corner right after the tram. Furthermore, I used proper racing lines and it's not like I tested every car once, no, I kept going until I didn't think I could improve the laptime. Every car has had the same upgrades and went on the same stretch of road to allow for the best comparison.

i first of all, thank you for bringing attention to this game, don't get me wrong, but if you want to enjoy this game or test the cars at their best, use the 3 tj's. you have 2 options for this: 1. play underground mode, get 3 of the following tj upgrades: engine, ecu, turbo, weight reduction. this depends on your driving style and retest it. 2. google search for tj upgrades tool and it will be easier to get the upgrades. sry, i don't have the link right now.

Ridiculous companies they forgot theirs old games even now still some people interested in them, brainless companies leaders, you stopped making perfect games in control and story bring the old back. @@MIIIVideo dude 😁😁 i dont know what Your game is. i played nfs games for 10 years. maybe its because i have the european version?? try making all second performance packs on the cars and dont put any bumpers, try slow and fast speeds, try steering. and then do the same with full bumpers,skirts (not body kit) , and then body kit. for me it was, i tried no bumpers and the car was steering a little better, but a lot more sliding, less control

@@MIIIVideo i needed all the bumpers, to make my car stable, so i could make the turn using nitro in the (6 lap) carreer race, but the stupid game settings, made the opponent overtake me, like i was standing. i needed, so i could control steering by inches, milimetres. but the game cheated anyway 😁😁😁

rx is the fastest by default

@@Marcy2200 i saw this video, that 's why i said this, of course every car is different and bodykits affects differently, but Integra Type R is very straight example of handling difference also,even simple bumpers affects car, so for an analogue of "street x" i've used only front bumper and tier 2 spoiler, i got best handling with these components

The 2 intro cars are the worst cars in the game, classic Black Box.

Sure, the best looking cars are the worst, lol.

I played this game online from day one. I used to drive the Integra, but noticed the rx-7 had higher top speed. Joined a clan and everyone drove the RX-7 except one guy, he was really good with the Miata... but the RX-7 was better, no contest.
