kitsune is based off two fruits actually, yamato's inu inu: model okuchi no makami (or divine wolf, something like that) and i believe catarina devon's inu inu: model kyubi no kitsune if its not based on yamato at all then ig the ribbon of the same name is just a nice nod to them
