    one cool thing to consider is that tier 5 chaos tome gives you a spell that summons your ruler as a combat summon who benefits from all the magical origin stuff. The only restriction is that your ruler can't be in the army. If you combine with astral reflections you can use some abilities or items you have 3 times instead of 1. I used this kind of strategy to beat a brutal game and I had 1 hero parties, so i was soloing 18 stacks with 1 hero, but only bc i use call forth avatar of chaos and astral reflection to create 3 copies of my ruler so its like 1 lvl 20 hero who summons 3 lvl 20 heros. and you add in all those magic origin spells and you can wreck anything.

    Apart from the spells and units, I find the selection of good Battlemage skills and various forms of Conduit special improvements interesting. For the skills: A good Battlemage hero probably want to be a Weaver at lvl 7, and the base Battlemage skills are somewhat bland. The conduits, as long with giving a lot of other perks, provide an incredible mana production base. If you go Astral, you actually can afford an entire army of magic origin units. Btw, not specifically related to tomes, but Powerful Evoker is an incredibly useful racial trait for spell slinging. Best of it, it gives you shadow affinity, so you get the low-hanging shadow perks without necromancy or ice magic.

    I think tome of warding would be powerfull with industrial culure with staves of warding alone. Where grant defences not only give +2 bolstered defences but also +2 bolstered resistances and each stack of it can be converted into damage and health with strenth from steel (while the ability that convert bolstered stacks into offences also give bolstered resistances itself). But it also give access to a minor race transformation that cover one of the industrial culture's greatest weakness, lack of magic resistances. Ps: If there not enough support unit to buff and heal your army, tome of astral mirror give access to summon astral reflection to boost the combo above to ridiculous proportion with no downside (since you won't need to attack with your support unit) and mirror veil is just the cherry on top of the cake. Pps: I'm aware that mystic culture T3 unit can destroy that combo with a single aoe ability which make spellbreaker insanly strong against strategies like this. Usually, When there rivalry/oppossition beween two forces, I expect them to fight on equal part. But when I look at industrial/materium against mythic/astral, everything that industrial/materium rely on to beat their opponents (physical defences, enchant and buff accumulation over time), mythic/astral just supress it (magical damage, instant enchant and buff supression) even if industrial use astral tome to give themself magical resistances.

    Yeah, this Tome has massive synergy with Industrious indeed. They were the first culture that popped into my mind as well when I saw this book. Especially since they are the only culture that can fully utilize the "Stun on getting Attacked" Buff with their taunts.

    Watchers are also immune to flancking ;) Amlified arrows also do 30% to one nearby enemy (debuffs included) 😅

    The All-Seeing Eye, yes. I wish the complete Creature Cards were visible ingame. I keep researching as much as I can, but the Wiki is often incomplete and the game has no direct sandbox mode included. The Arrows I somehow didn't even notice, thanks for that =)

    @@Ic0nGaming yeah, I also miss the information on siege projects how much damage it does to fortifications. I don't like to stay arround for to long, I'd rather take a weaker battle bonus, if I can reduce even one turn )))

    That ricochet 0,3 is pretty big selling point for book, offering something aoe very early

    I think their ambush on the spell, if you killed the target in the first or second attack the archer continues to attack the next enemy in range.

    @@khanhnguyen-tt3ff yes, also, if the second enemy dies, but not the main target, it jumps to another enemy, if there is someone in range. It's really a great enchantment

    Do the effects to increase magic damage from the hero's passive and the pylon from t2 stack? Or a few summoned pylons?

    Well usually it's clearly statet out if things don't stack so I'd assume it stacks? Needs playtesting, cause I don't know myself (yet)

    Does arcane surge work for enemy spells as well ? Does it activate before the enemy spell takes affect or after ?

    All spells, probably after, since it logically needs to trigger from the spell.

    In my opinion, Astral and Nature are the top tier affinities, with Order, Chaos, and Dark in the next tier, and Materium in last place. Astral has no bad tomes, very few bad abilities or units, and the empire development track is also incredibly strong. The only thing it can't do is heal or prevent physical damage. So you need Nature or Order to take care of those needs.

    @@khanhnguyen-tt3ff Both tier 1 are terrific, as is mirror. Even scrying has several good spells (watcher and guided projectiles) and a usable debuff (mental mark). I award you zero points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

    @@thevoxdeus what does tier 1 do that make it better then the other tier 1, and scryting only have one good enchantment, the watcher is underwelm for a tier 2 summon unit(cause stealth unit is not big deal), And all mirror is being outclass by other tier 4 plus it summon unit is kind of bad for a tier 4 unit

    @khanh nguyen Tier 1 tomes don't need to be very unique. They are either meant to provide you with a basic toolkit at the start of the game, or to be researched in just a few turns later on (in which case the affinity and province improvements are most of the point.) The tier 1 astral tomes provide very usable damage, very usable summons, very usable defensive utility, and useful province improvements (conduits that provide +mana are never bad) Watcher is good because it has a high damage, 6 range ability that stuns and debuffs and can be used every other round. Astral Reflection is arguably the best combat summon in the game, since at MINIMUM it gives you the equivalent of 1-2 of your best unit, which will often be a hero unit.

    @@thevoxdeus bother tier 1 nature have better spell and better province Improvement, tome of faith change the game on diplomacy side, tome of horde got a minor race, better unit, one of the best summon spell, tome of enchantment got better summon that can elvove, two better unit enchantment and one of the best city spell. I dont see the point of pick any of the astral tome tier 1 when you can pick any of these 5 tome. But you have to compare to other tier 2 tome unit, nature tier 2 got the nymph (seduce is better then stun), Glade runner is a recruiter unit better health and massive debuff ability , shadow got banshse that can teleport and use a 2 hex aoe debuff to enemy unit and nerco can strait raise the dead and make more unit, order got lightnbringer is the same as nymph and inquisitor which recruitbale that can tun and condemned ,chaos tot skald which is a buffet unit to everything, materion got the best tier 3 tank, and the best tier 3 archer . Lol the only thing the watcher beat out right is the grimlen Lol mimic cannot turn into a hero, it said none hero unit, and it a mytic unit so all your enchant dont effect it. At best it can do is copying a worse version of a tier 5 unit. Summon unit is not as good as recruitbale unit cause it limit how much you get them per turn
