The Saturn V was the most powerful man made flying object ever build. It helped America land the first humans on the moon during the Apollo Program at the height of the Space Race between the US and the USSR. It could lift around 140 tons to LEO, and approximately 50 tons to TLI.

One of humanities greatest achievements. To think it was such a fantastic success, so complex and had never been done before.

Two things I would witness if I could go back in time. A Saturn 5 launch and an Elvis concert.

Some friends and I skipped out of high school and drove from central Ohio to Titusville Florida to see Apollo 16 launched and a year later was on KSC to see Skylab launched. I can tell you, you didn't just see the launch you FELT it.
The best part was Apollo 8. No person had ever riden on one before so there was nobody to tell them what they were going to feel or experience. It was an "A" ticket ride I am sure.

I thought that too until i realised it's titled APOLLO Saturn Vs,so i suppose the Skylab mission dosen't count!
