All-American Triple Loop Review, Indiana Beach Schwarzkopf Looper | How Does it Compare to Quimera?
All-American Triple Loop is the new-for-2024 roller coaster at Indiana Beach. This is a Schwarzkopf multi-looper that previously operated in Germany as Dreier Looping, Malaysia as Triple Loop Coaster, England as Magnum Force, and Mexico as Quimera. This is an intense and forceful ride that looks great on Indiana Beach's skyline. This video talks about the current ride experience and compares how it ran as Quimera.

Most of the general public knows nothing about “riding defensively”. They will just see it as a painful ride and will tell others. I hope the park will do what they can to remedy Looper’s issues. And I’m sure they are very thankful to the coaster community for giving them early feedback

Northern Indiana native here. I’m so glad the coaster community enjoys my home park of 25 years. That place was my absolute favorite thing about living in Indiana. It’s crazy to me that they now own an awesome looping coaster, and a Schwarzkopf no less. Also I’m glad that you enjoy Cornball that much. I think it’s an incredibly underrated coaater

The accordion restraint is the oddest shoulder restraint Ive ever seen in my life 😂
@CanobieCoaster

It's not ideal.
On my second ride on this, I figured it would be necessary to put the accordion as low as possible. Unfortunately, this crushed my upper back so badly that it hurt for two weeks afterward. Lesson learned: I won’t be riding this until they remove those accordions. Even if I rode it “incorrectly,” it’s not worth the risk to go through 3 awesome loops and an unbelievably boring rest of the ride.

Given all the negative comments here, the park will have to do something to fix the problem, if it's not too late to reverse the bad reviews it's getting. As for riding "defensively", it's a ridiculous necessity to ask of most riders--this is an amusement park ride, not a military training device.

Quimera looked insanely fast. it looked as if it ran like a prototype raptor with the speedy layout while triple loop looks as if it runs like jersey devil’s last hills after the mid course lol

Definitely a niche market for new Schwarzkoph trains that I hope finds a way to make new versions for these old classics. I got to finally ride one at Lagoon, and those classic long trains really keep the speed on the second half of colossus.

Well Gerstlauer makes some every once in a while. Given that Gerstlauer is founded by former Schwarzkopf employees, it makes sense they're the go to for parts and refurbishments of these old rides. It's not that many years ago that Alpina Bahn in Germany got new trains by Gerstlauer.

I'm glad it was saved.
Little bit of physics student thinking here, but I reckon the altitude also helped Quimera run dangerously fast. With the high elevation of Mexico City, the lower air density would reduce the drag coefficient on the trains significantly, allowing the train to loose less speed. The trim brakes would also do a lot to help the speed as well.
@CanobieCoaster
5 күн бұрын
Maybe. I've never heard anyone cite that as a reason why coasters run faster, but that would make sense.
I was there Thursday and rode it 8 times. A few rides it was fine others I was getting beat up especially in last seat. Makes since it was different due to height of restraint. I had to lock my arms and hold on while trying to lock body in place - they need differen harnesses. Couldn't they just use simular ones like they use in race cars. I am a fanboy of oldschool inversion coasters so I kept riding it. That first drop is crazy though - I had to go on the other coasters then come back after the 1st ride - my brain wasn't ready for it. (laughs). I thought it was an intense coaster. You feel the G's especally on first drop. You can ask to wait to get 1st seat I would let others through. Crazy seeing how much the loops swayed on the Mexican version and how it never slowed down. It was only a matter of time.
I just rode this today! I thought it was ok! Definitely shaky at some points but I just tensed up my shoulders and neck on the turns. 😅 my favorite part was definitely the loops

I rode it a little under two weeks ago. We have a similar technique in riding it so we have a similar opinion about it. It is the third best ride at IB for me behind Cornball and lost coaster. I like this ride, but I get why people could hate it.
After hearing all the negative reviews, I replaced Indiana Beach with Holiday World for my upcoming trip, even though I know Holiday World draws insane attendance and has huge lines. I've had great, full experiences at Indiana Beach in the past, so I don't need to go again so soon if I would be skipping this ride. Your technique could work for me, but I don't think I would risk it. I think that I would enjoy Good Gravy far more no matter what, and I haven't been to Holiday World in 3 years.

I've never had to deal with bad waits on the dry side at Holiday World minus Holiwood Nights 2020. Most lines are at the water park.
I was surprise when you said the shoulder restraints would stay in the same position once locked. That was not my experience on Thriller (Texas Tornado.) I had to brace myself with my back flat against the seat or else the shoulder restraints would lower further and further forcing me to slouch. That was with the trains it came with. It was supposed to get new trains with slightly different shoulder restraints, but from I heard they lasted less than a day before they were deemed unusable. And I was not at the park that day.

I made my first trip there a couple weeks ago and rode it once in the front and once in the back and that was enough for me. I didn't know about the whole pushing the shoulder restraints down thing at the time, but even if I did, the ride just isn't good enough in it's current form to put myself through that. Virtually none of their guests will want to ride this more than once unless they do something about it.

I rode Quimera a couple of months before the accident in D.F., and the forces on it were insane. I remember that at that time, the ride staff made sure to balance the rider pairs on each cart based on perceived rider weight. It was weird. They split up different couples to ride together as well. So weird. I also remember how that there was some sketchy homemade belt restraints that both riders had to share side-by-side. I was genuinely scared after the ride because of the sketchy practices. There was little to no line - a complete walk-on.

Fine for me with my method.
I'm kicking myself for putting off Indiana Beach until this opens only for Indiana Beach to now not be accessible to me having moved west 😂😂😂. As for the restraints, they were necessary on Mindbender because of clearance issues in that helix surrounded by a circular mirror (which was the fault of Galexyland, not Schwarchkofp), but it was still one of the coasters to get me into coasters (still the best decision I've ever made to be a big girl that day). While I'm glad part of it lives on it's sad that it's only the worst part of the coaster to live on, hopefully they can remove the accordians and put something akin to comfort collars on the same train (if it can't run without something over the shoulder).
@CanobieCoaster
5 күн бұрын
So could people hit the mirror before the pads were added?
@urbex_coasters

@@CanobieCoaster Don't know that for a fact but I know from pictures I've seen that clearance was tight. When I was there I saw someone get turned away for being too tall and I remember reading an article about those clearances a few weeks later and it suddenly clicking why the accordians were there and why that person got turned away. I can't find the article because it's gets barried by articles about the removal and the trains being sent to triple loop.
Indiana beach did buy at least 2 of the mindbender trains. Indiana beach put a put a pov of this ride during testing and it was a white train. The red train was on the transfer track. But now it’s only the red train, unsure what happened to the white train but they gotta ditch those trains

There have been a lot of horrible reviews regarding this coaster since opening day. The reason is likely due to the coaster was made for trains that it originally had with with lap bars. IB picked up the trains from Mindbender at West Edmonton Mall that had over the shoulder restraints. The trains do not run well on this and the roughness it has, causes a lot of painful neck banging.
