Have you ever seen a staghorn that big in nature? Or just a huge one anywhere? It blew my MIND! Many plant conservatories have MASSIVE ones as well. Hope this video was as awesome for you to watch as it was for me to make!

Hello Colin, I have a very old, large stag horn which was beautiful - until a tree feller cut the Qld Nut tree (Macadamia) and dislodged my treasured stag horn and now it’s hanging loose. Because of its great weight and my advanced age I don’t have he strength or the knowledge to rescue it. Hoping you can advise me how to go about re-establishing my treasured plant.

I’ve seen a bigger one at Gatorland in Orlando! It’s sitting above the gators at the entrance.
First! Love the plant anatomy section!

Absolutely man! You inspired me to include more of that, but I think we need to bring in an expert every now and then to dive into deep deep science! I know prehistoric ferns are in your wheelhouse so lets collab again soon!
I just purchased a Netherland staghon fern. Your video was very helpful to me, thank you.
Fantastic content!

Ahh yeaaahh buddy! I think you need a staghorn for your room! Wall mounted on a nice piece of live edge wood? Or do you have a different plant in mind that you’re eyeing to level up your setup?
I love those plants, helpful video, thank you.
Thank you for explaining the staghorn fern. I have a massive one that was attached to my tree naturally, I think. I can't really tell. I dont see a board or a chain unless its being covered by other parts of the staghorn. It recently was knocked out of the tree when we had to take some limbs off the tree higher up. I am in the process of trying to figure out of I should cut parts of the staghorn off and mount them from the bigger one to make it easier to put back up on the tree. And your video helped out a lot.
Wonderful information , I learned a lot . It truly kept me watching . Many thanks
Wow 🤩 that’s beautiful

Repotting would be good topic
Hi thank you for your explanation. I would like to understand which is the most proper way to water them while they are in the pot
My husband and I have a Staghorn that we bought the first year we were married, 1978. We just water it and leave it alone. It is so big I don’t think it could be mounted now. We are wondering if we should repot it, it is in the same pot we got it in. We never have added soil to it. I am leery of making any changes to it. We live in Michigan, so we have kept it inside, but this summer I did move it outside to the shaded patio, and I let it get rain instead of tap water. People that come to our home are amazed by it for 2 reasons. 1) the sheer size of it, and 2) they have never seen anything like it, as they are not so common. We love our Staghorn fern! But we are concerned that we aren’t doing enough for it. Should we try to repot it?

My staghorn is massive but all the leaves now have thick brown stuff underneath and on top of the leaves is turning brown. Live in Queensland and have had a lot of rain. Is it dying or have a disease? Great video thank you.
So I have a cute small stag horn on a board I bought. Love it and everyday I look at it! Some of my leaves are growning brown spots and getting bigger. I think some is Definitely wrong! I don’t put it in the sun it is under actually I want to Darius and my patio

Oops wasn’t done. I have it under my monsterias just the board leaning on the planter. Help I don’t want to lose this!
The shield fronds should be at the top
How are you doing. I pray that you are doing well. I would like to know if Staghorn Ferns are slow growing plants. Do they need a lot of sun or do they like the bathroom better. Thank you.
Do u have a tutorial on how to grow staghorn ferns from spores
Does the staghorn fern grow slower indoors than it does outside.
I got two from a nursery that cut the shields off. Are they just toast??
At what point do you change the pot size?
How often do you mist them with water. Can you use carbonated water?
Quick question!! 🙋Anyone knows how long it usually takes for roots to attach to the board before we can safely remove fishing lines?

You don't have to. Eventually it will shield over the line. Hopefully it will get bigger and bigger. So you will have to mount it on a bigger board. The last time I moved mine it too three of us to do it. I love them. They are so much fun to grow
Can you make a video on how to put a grow light for a staghorn? I'm struggling with that 🥲 Thank you so much for all the info !
I wanted to ask, when the shields go brown, are they actually dead or is that just their color when they are no longer fertile and producing the stuff that fertilises the spores? I understand their function and know not to remove them just because they're brown, but I have yot to hear whether they are actually still alive or not. I ha e yet to get into staghorns but want to and am at that stage where I'm collecting information to make sure I don't just straight-up kill them with ignorance.
Can you keep them in the bathroom
I think you'll find that it's an elkhorn fern, not staghorn.
I like to hear about the plant but take that mask off your face. It does not work you look silly
