All of those gems are beautiful. I own a very small piece of Tanzanite and 2 Ametrines I bought from JTV years ago. Even though the tanzanite is small, the deep blue purple color with the reddish hue inside is just gorgeous. I don't know how to post emojis here but I send you all endless purple hearts as purple is my favorite color.

Shelly's ametrine is incredible! said "wow" out loud to myself when she held it up, i really like the unusual cut and the colour is fantastic. i really like that shot of the tanzanite at 11:58 - looks less like a gem and more like some kind of weirdo translucent purple-tinted chromium; very cool. thanks for coming on Shelly! 💜💜💜

This video is fantastic! Always great to see Shelly, and absolutely LOVE the lavender jade piece featured! Also. For the multiple commenters claiming they mispronounced “sugilite” - Natalie and Shelly are experts in this industry and they are definitely pronouncing it correctly.

1:07 Charoite is classified as a Rock. It can be a mixture of up to 4 different Minerals all identifiable by Color... Purple: Charoite Black: Aegirine Yellow: Canasite Orange: Tinaksite.

Purple has always been my favorite color, and people used to give me amethyst gifts, but I got *bored* with amethyst. And then at a gem&mineral show I saw charoite. I asked the seller what the "mystical properties" of charoite, and they told me "it's for the spiritually responsible use of technology" - which made me laugh, because I was a radio technician at the time. I have a few really nice charoite pieces. I discovered that it comes from a particular mineral formation that comes close to the surface of the Earth in two places, one in Russia and one in the Ukraine, which is why it's so rare. Maybe someday I'll be able to get some taffeite or tanzanite or iolite. But those deep violet gem-grade amethysts are lovely!

7:26 The best way to check if a stone is Amethyst is using a Polariscope. Using it, look for Interference Colors and use a Optic Figure Glass wand to look for an Optic Figure. Typically, Amethyst will show a Bull's Eye Optic Figure. A Bull's Eye Optic Figure and an Airy's Sprial Optic Figure(Which is more rare and looks like a Swastika) are UNIQUE to Quartz, and AUTOMATICALLY identify something is Quartz.

6:59 Almost all Tanzanite is heat treated. It normally comes out of the ground BROWN in color. It is so common to heat Tanzanite, it is not required to list as a Treatment.
