Nice presentation. I think it's important to clarify how small the size of particulate the N95's can protect one from at that 95% (the size is 0.3 micrometers in aerodynamic diameter). Hence, the wearer really needs to understand a bit about sizes of various airborne hazards, which should be covered in their respirator training. I cannot count the number of times I've seen laboratory chemists, industrial workers and painters (both who are exposed to fumes and vapors), and even traffic police directing traffic on a busy street while wearing either an N95, a regular surgical mask, a dust mask or similar, when they need to be fitted for and wearing a half or full faced respirator with appropriate cartridges. - Chemical Safety Officer & Chemical Hazwaste Manager

@@KristenMeghanTV Viruses need a mode of transport, something to move them. Particles from sneezes or coughs (which carry the virus) are not smaller than 0.3 microns. The virus would be dormant on the outside surface of the respirator. Surface contamination would be the likely route of someone acquiring covid while wearing an N95 and who was fit tested. People aren't going to walk around in public wearing PAPR's. Nothing is 100%. They likely won't rate N95's for certain specific hazards because of the various other ways a person could be exposed while wearing them. I personally don't like N95's because of the fit and seal problems. I prefer a full face, though I know it isn't practical to wear in public - at least not for this particular virus right now. Ebola, yes I'm wearing a PAPR everywhere.

Heard of P2's. Just as effective as N95's. Actually better specs. The thing I like about some P2's is that they have horizontal straps (behind the head) which do not interfere with hearing aids, unlike the N95's vertical "ear" straps. Where do you get P2? Why, in New Zealand and Australia, of course.

dude, if your n95 masks have ear loops, they are not n95 masks. N95 masks have to have head straps so that they are tight enough. Stop spreading misinformation.

0:00 if "N95 respirators are the most protective option for face coverings" that means N99, N100, and P100 respirators offer less protection. Is this true?

I think it really depends on the fit and fabric. Some are closer to the face while others allow more space. I find the flexible cloth to be more comfortable than the molded cup shape but that may just be a matter of preference.

There is a major problem with this video. It does not mention. Cutting the ear loops. To prevent harming birds who fly around a landfill and, marine life who come in contact with masks carelessly thrown in the ocean waterways. Also, The loops are not replaceable. Should the get severed somehow.
