The second part of our journey around Japan takes me to Kumamoto. In Kumamoto, I explored the great outdoors, including the majestic active volcano Mount Aso and the fertile wetlands registered under the Ramsar Convention. I also enjoyed local specialties such as Kumamoto Ramen and visited Kumamoto Castle, which is in the process of being restored after a major earthquake.
