I never realized how pretty my birthstone is! Very informative video!

So, one time I went to a jewelry store that had pure silver and VERY reduced prices. I knew that I wanted a ring with a pinkish-red gem, not an orangish-red one. And I fell in love with exactly that. Got the store to change the gem onto a ring that fit me, and I wore that ring literally all the time. And then I figured that it was probably a garnet, whivh is my birth stone, so double feels for the bling!

I've really enjoyed the Garnet videos, and I'd love to see a birthstone video series here on JTV. Thanks for all the great content!

I am very proud of my January birthstones I have a very special pyrote Garnet ring that I wear everytime I go out it was a gift from a friend of mine who ran a small shop in Hawaii that would make occasional trips to where I live to sell her beautiful jewelry, hair pieces, and clothing that she would have when we packed a few items from her shop. I also have alot of Rose Quartz because it's something my mother would always love and she knew I had a love of stones so she would constantly give me Rose Quartz of many types. Just like my ring I have a Rose Quartz bracelet that my fiance got me for our 2 year of being together and I cherish it and I love wearing them both because of the significant meaning they have for me as my birthstone and substitute birthstone as well as continental reasons because what I have and wear come from the people closest to me.

Heya. Discovered your channel, as I write, two videos ago (including this one) via a recommendation. I'm impressed. Being a January 'baby' myself, I am drawn to Garnets, of all colours. Plus, I like Rose Quartz. Didn't know that was a 'back-up' for January though. Thanks for the info. I expect it's too late now, (4 years?? 😉 ), but happy 2023 all 😊

I always like other ppls birthstones more than my own for January. And I was watching the gem 💎 network and I seen green garnet and I was like 🤯🤗🤩 I’m honored to have this as my birthstone and I’m excited to tell any other Jan babies about it!

Happy New Year Natalie!! Love Garnets, although I do believe Spessartite, Tsavorite, Mali and Dementoid are my favorites. I think my favorite gemological find is a 1.89ct Alexandrite that was given to me by an older Russian patient. We both loved gemstones and this was passed down from a great grandmother. He had no family so he gifted it to me to take care of after he passed away. I must say it is beautiful. Another favorite is a color change diopside otherwise known as Csarzite. Champagne, greens, raspberries and golden colors from 1 stone. Pretty amazing.

Isn't Zultanite supposed to be the Color Change variety of Diaspore?

@@nak8490 Yes, the name has changed to Csarite by the owner of the mine. Color change diopspore or Zultanite. They are all the same gemstone.

That video was rock solid. Also, what do you think about mentioning any of these stones in the future? Phosphosiderite, Bumblebee Jasper, Diopside, and Dragonstone.

The stones colors that should’ve been for each months. #1 January = White #2 February = Red #3 March = Green #4 April = Yellow #5 May = White #6 June = Purple #7 July = Red #8 August = light Blue # 9 September = White # 10 October = Orange # 11 November = Yellow #12 December = Blue

You should have mentioned Yttrium Aluminum Garnet (YAG), which is used in lots of solid medical and industrial lasers

Yes,Garnets rank a 6.5 - 7.5 on the Moh's Hardness Scale.

Gemstones are not only attributed to the traditional 12 calendar months of the year but also to Sun/Star, Planetary, or Talismanic charts. So for the Zodiac sign Aquarius which spans some of January the Sun Sign sign (Star Sign) is Amethyst. Emerald is a 'mystical' gem for January.
