I am age 67 and I remember how popular these dolls were for every little girl. Unfortunately we were very poor and I wan never able to own one. But now as an adult, I collect them to my heart's desire. 😢😢😢 😅😅😅

I still have my childhood 1952 strung non walker Vogue Ginny doll. Many, many more have joined my household as I've collected them for years. The vintage early 1950's are my favorite and will always remain so. The 1978-1982 "skinny" Ginny was a shock when Lesney owned the company. Thankfully other companies bought the Vogue Doll Co. and brought back the dolls that reminded us of the early cute little girl Ginny was.

Thanks for your presentation. I wish you had brought and/or talked about the Tosca wigged Ginnys. They are absolutely gorgeous. There were so many companies making the 8” doll after Ginny came out. And, the companies making an 8” doll were not just in the United States. From the age of two on, I would spend 3 months in England and found several British versions. When I was six, we sailed to England-what a great time that was. I stayed with an aunt in the country for several weeks during that trip. In the village was a beautiful Ginny like doll . I would walk on my own to the village and visit the small toy shop where this look alike Ginny was. At the time she was not even an £. Probably 10 shillings, so I was able to buy her. Sadly she is no longer with me. have had an Italian version and even one Ginny look alike from South America!! 🥲🥲🥲

I had Ginny dolls as a child, and my mom's cousin made me loads of beautiful clothes for them. Her husband worked at Strombecker, and so I had loads of furniture, too. I also - later - had the "big sister" Jill dolls. They were all so much nicer than Barbies.

I too had Ginny dolls. I still have them. I also had the Jill doll and I still have her with her original outfit and a somewhat beaten up original box. She also has a few other outfits. I loved the 50’s. I am surprised these dolls are not worth more than they are.

Both Ginny and Nancy Ann Storybook dolls were some of my childhood dolls, which I lost track of years ago, so Michael, I loved your reference to Nancy Ann as they do remind me also of Ginny. Thanks to you for another great video, and thanks to Ms. Curry for a nostalgic, informative experience.

Thanks for wonderful presentation! Just adorable. I had Ginny's when I was little in early 1950s. So happy when eBay started. I was able to buy original outfits I had as a child.

I must have had a dozen Ginny's when I was young. I loved them better than my big dolls. They fit nicely in my hands. I was something of a Tomboy, so my Ginnys went on adventures. I've collected them from 1952 through the Skinny Ginnys. The older ones are fun to make clothes for and restore.

Thanks for the nice presentation! I have a Lesney Ginny and a Ginny Clone walker both picked up from a flea market. Unfortunately it looks like Lesney Ginny isn’t as popular but I think she’s cute.

Ah, I'm back for an "I'm still jealous of my cousins" moment! The Miss Rosebud was the British equivalent but they came undressed and patterns were all for knitted clothing. I envied my cousins in Canada and the US who could dress their Ginnys like real little girls. Each year I would apologise to poor Rosebud for her limited wardrobe!
