Interesting to see birdseye on an acoustic neck. The redwood will be a nice balance against the maple. Looking forward to seeing it come together.
This is going to look beautiful. I will be interesting to hear the sound on this. I have never loved acoustics with maple back and sides. Redwood tops sound amazing.
Silver Maple ( Acer saccharinum) will also form Bird's Eye, albeit rarely. I have a few board feet that I have kept for forty years
The tendency for sugar maple to get burn marks is because of the sugar which carbonizes with heat from power tools.
