Understanding water hardness is key for healthy aquariums! This video breaks it down nicely for beginners like me.
Great video! I learned a lot about the importance of maintaining the right water hardness for my aquarium. Your explanation of the differences between GH (General Hardness) and KH (Carbonate Hardness) was really clear. Thanks for the tips on testing and adjusting hardness levels to keep my fish healthy!
This video was incredibly helpful in explaining aquarium water hardness! I've struggled with understanding this concept, but your clear explanations and visual aids made it so much easier to grasp. Now I feel confident in managing the water conditions for my fish. Thank you for sharing your expertise!
This video provides excellent insights on aquarium water hardness. Thanks for making everything so clear and understandable!
Thank you for such an educational video on aquarium water hardness! I now feel more confident in managing my tank's conditions. Your guidance is invaluable!
This video is incredibly informative! Understanding aquarium water hardness and its importance is crucial for maintaining a healthy tank. Your detailed explanation on what affects water hardness and how to manage it is really helpful. Thanks for sharing these valuable insights!
These tips will really help many fishkeepers to manage water quality. Water hardness has a big influence on the environment of our fish. We can use liquid to test the water condition and the PH level. Thank you so much for doing this video.

Informative. Very clearly explained. If i am using RO water for the discus tank ( tap water over 500 ppm tds as it is borewell dependent locality ), RO water is neutral being slightly acidic and it is devoid of any minerals which can be adjusted with a remineralizer ( Seachem Equilibrium ) but what about the Kh. RO water has insignificant Kh to retain a stable Ph which can crash. The Alkaline buffer ( Seachem ) will retain the buffering capacity by increasing Kh but it is not permanent as once the buffering capacity depletes the Kh will drop and so will the Ph which will kill all the fishes. Does a Alkaline RO unit serves the purpose or a minimum amount of crushed coral in mesh bag in the filtration system or Coral Shell in tank is the solution?

Hi there. In my experience when it comes to buffering I used stuff in the tank like limestone and driftwood along with buffering agents to adjusted the purified water to close to the in tank conditions to avoid spiking.

@@AquariumStoreDepot What about crushed coral in mesh bag in canister filter? Will it increase the Kh and Gh of RO water?

It can work if the parameters check out
We know that GH is the opposite of KH, but what is important here is that the fish's habitat requires sufficient magnesium and calcium ions so that there is a balance aquarium water hardness
