The portraits of headmasters made me think. Could a painting be used for therapy? Say someone lost their mother, and painted a portrait of her, it may not really be her, but it would have to be cathartic to some extent

My grandmother died a few years ago and I was super close to her, and I was devastated when she passed, even though I knew she wasn’t in pain anymore (her health got really bad in the last 18 months of her life) it was still difficult for me. But if I had portrait of her where we could still speak and say I love you to each other, I think that would be really therapeutic

If you divide 1000 by 43 you get an average of 23 years per headmaster if you include the 16 missing. Obviously this isn't accurate, as they weren't all headmasters for the exact same amount of time but, the math does track from what I can tell. 43 headmasters in 1000 years seems mathematically sound, unless I'm using the wrong equation.

Why do I feel like when Harry's kids showed up to Hogwarts, Mcgonagall probably thought retirement was possibly a good idea after dealing with now 3 generations of Potters! XD

I'm sure the 1st headmaster statue was restored as was the school, using the mending charm Reparo. Elizabeth Burke is in the 5th and 6th games of portrait shortcuts around the school. She leads u to the dungeon. Same goes for Giffard Abbott that leads to the transfiguration courtyard. He was a Hufflepuff since that's where ur suppose to get the password.

Very informative video, only thing I did pick up on is the date Dumbledor came to be headmaster. You mentioned 1992 which would mean he became headmaster the year after Harry attended Hogwards for the first time. He would have at least been headmaster since some point in the 60s/70s since Voldermort approached him to become a teacher and also in time to be headmaster around the time James and Lily attended Hogwards.

A fanfiction author, nigelcat, came up with the idea that Arcturus Black was not a pureblood hothead and I expanded it is in unpublished fanfiction. He gives the Black ancestral home in London to Cygnus and Orion and takes Cassiopeia Black and buys a castle where he becomes somewhat of a recluse. He decides to give the Black titles and fortune to 9 Potter unless Sirius has an heir.

I think in Hogwarts Legacy we may learn more of the headmasters and headmistress of the past, so u be able to go in the heads room and might be able to talk to the previous headmistress s and headmasters or the current one in the game may talk about them, if that's an option not sure until we learn more of the game maybe bit more in the year like in March to July not sure which be the best month for company making the game release some more information or gameplay of the game?

@@bookmouse2719 Yes, but when he was stuck in the house during Order he was an adult, still rude, but so was Phineas and they apparently shared some viewpoints, I think they could have been a source of comfort to each other, if they had given it a chance. Sirius was alone a lot and Nigellus was stuck as a painting, they both could have used one more friendly presence.

Excellent job! after watching this, the second depiction of Dumbledore makes less sense because being a headmaster requires orderly scholars who are prim and proper, as Dumbledore was described in the book. I have never met a dirty hippie headmaster.

How could Dippet have retired as Headmaster in 1992? Harry and friends went to Hogwarts in 1991 and Dumbledore was Headmaster then. Also, if I recall correctly, Dumbledore was Headmaster when Riddle applied for the DADA position in the 60s or 70s.

I believe in reincarnation by free will, meaning that you & you alone dictate your own reincarnations & all their circumstances, & that you can be born into whatever world you want bc you are ultimately a creator or co creator of all worlds. There are plenty of time periods, alternative histories, & fictional worlds id love to reincarnate to & live in. The Wizarding World is def one of them, but so is FF. Your timeline is pretty messed up,because Dumbledore became headmaster in 1970 or 71,just when the Maurauders,Lily and Snape started their school,because he was the one who came up with the Idea of Whomping Willow. And Armando Dippet was Headmaster when Tom Riddle was at school so definitely between 1938-45. And your Timelines just don't match any of it
