Alix Perez & Ivy Lab on the RM-07's

We visited the studios of underground Drum & Bass producers Alix Perez and Ivy Lab to find out what qualities they look for in a reference monitor, why it's so important for them to have an accurate response, and how Pioneer DJ's RM-07's fit the bill.
On the back of their recent collaborative project - the Arkestra EP on Critical Music - Alix Perez, Sabre, Stray and Halogenix provide an insight into their production processes and why they find the RM-07's so enjoyable to write on.

now you just gotta make a studio subwoofer to compliment them. and while we're at it, how bout an external sound card of high quality for studio use to drive these monitors ;)

Where do I contact to have technical questions answered? I’d like to know what the +/-3dB low end limit is for these speakers. It says the -10dB limit is 40Hz but what’s the -3dB? I really need to have this question answered before I buy these speakers.

Oh yeah, they do look familiar. These ones look more professional though and I'm guessing have a flatter response.

Sucha a shame that Halogenix is no longer with Ivy Lab. Imagine the dnb they would be making... 😭

Why? Halogenix is making incredible dnb on his own and Ivy Lab are making incredible hip hop without him. I don't see a problem.

They barely made dnb together once they joined, even though that's where they all originated. mostly bass and 140. Maybe that's why he left so he could just make dnb like he is now.

I totally picked up on that as well.
They don't once say these are the best they just say it's decent and monitors are important 😂
When your ears are fucked up from years of djing monitors are absolutely useless..
