Very interesting and good news, that Alishan Forest Railway will operate again soon between Chiayi and Alishan. My last ride starting from Chiayi was in Summer 1979. In recent years I have only experienced the trip from Alishan to Chushan.

This is very exciting! I rode this in November of 2019 and it only went to 奮起湖. You had to take a buss the rest of the way to Alishan. I am so happy that this is happening!. 加油！

Absolutely amazing!! For a logging railroad to have tunnels like that is almost unbelievable! Had to be horrendously expensive to build, but a lot was probably offset by not having to maintain the route around it. That trip could possibly get me to travel to Thailand…

Only a relatively short distance but tunnelled through various rock formations so only slow progress and lots of expense.

I always considered the Alishan Forest Railway as just the line from Alishan to the Sun-Moon-Lake. But apparently there is much more. Great to see.
