Alienware AW3423DWF VS LG 27GR95QE OLED Monitor Review Battle! Fubar or Zorz?

Ойындар

R.I.P. Tom Sizemore Fubar or Zorz?? Is the Alienware QD-OLED worth it?
The Zorz Review/Short film of the AW3423DWF Monitor and how it compares to the LG 27GR95QE! Plus apps to give you more options to configure your monitor to your liking!
Both monitors are Zorz but you'll have to decide which one works for you and your use case!
Feel free to fast forward to the sections you find important and thanks for having patience while I meticulously tested every damn thing.
The LG is faster. The Alienware is prettier. And since most people get an OLED to enjoy the beauty - you might want to consider the ALIENWARE unless you are just highly competitive but not quite professional.

YOOOOOOOOO MY HOMIE WITH THE ZORZIE SHOUTOUT!! To answer your question in the vid title, definitely Zorz. I'm in too deep now, man... I couldn't leave if I wanted to 🥲. I live here now. I see you've been working on some things... Don't worry, I see you I see you ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) I have so many things to say lol goddammit XD. The editing, just the general timing between cuts, the music and the drama and the pauses lol. We can feel the extra polishing and the attention you brought to details and fluidity/flow of it all. It's not overdone either, like it's not too much or anything. Good stuff!!! You've done homework or something? It was always good so far, but this is like next-level? Am I crazy? Anyone?👀 AND THE RESEARCH.... Everything is super in-depth and yet worded in a way that's easy to follow. You're nailing it on this point again. That's it. We're there boys. This is the promised land isn't it? ..... Like I said, I live here now. So......... the HDMI2.0 actually IS a limitation in the end... We were kinda questioning this during the unboxing video but never really investigated more... Welp, that's a shame. I guess a lot of monitors will start having those better ports soon anyway, but sad they didn't jump on the occasion for this one. Still overall looks awesome, like you said it can be really cool for immersion if you don't need the performance edge! Seeing those two monitors side by side and directy compared is also something I believe quite a few of us were requesting. The only question I have left is about the audio outputs... like... are those even decent? Rtings does have a quick description/mention but it's really basic info... Obviously I wouldn't expect a big deal, and I can't really blame you for not getting into yet another complicated subject lol.... since most people that really care about that have dedicated DACs and AMPs anyway... Would prolly not be worth it. but I am quite curious to know if they sound any good, by principle of knowing how the money I give them is being used lol, if anything. That and how input lag would compare between the monitors, but Rtings usually covers that in detail so I can go there for that. Side-side topic; APPARENTLY, some people actually mod their monitors, like remove the frame, then put a bunch of wet scott towels on the screen, leave for like 3-5 hours, and then PEEL OFF the matt coating from their monitors !?! Looks like you could potentially risk doing it too fast or wrong and it could damage the polarization layer... but when done carefully you can turn any matte/anti-glare coating into a glossy screen... I'm not sure if it would be possible to have a glass made for it to protect it once the coating is removed though, you probably wouldn't want to even risk scratches with the softest cloth... but isn't that nuts? Anyway, thought that was interesting enough to be worthy of bringing to your attention. BUT YEAH, back to topic. it's crazy good content man. Keep it up!! but...... Don't skip on fun times though lol, right? Take time for that at least, for your own sake.... (and theirs lol, whoever they may be). If you're going to be your own boss, the least you can do for yourself is not to burn yourself out! The zorzies have needs too dood, we'll understand if it's a bit later than we would expect ahah. And I'm glad to be here too man, btw. Not only that, I'm proud to be! LET IT BE KNOWN, I WAS HERE !!! OG ZORZIE 😎 omg I need a shirt that says that, now.. Alright enough, lemme get out of here before I create myself more needs with good ideas like this lol Edit: btw ZorzDad seems so cool! How awesome af is it that you make him part of your thing?? I’m kinda jelly lol, but I like that. Such good vibes, too

For sure! Furious Banana for life! I will get you a one of one shirt when I get big that says that. You live here now! Sorry I skipped the audio. I feel like audio is just a path I don’t even want to wrap my head around or else I’ll be going nuts researching the audio chips in the monitors and anyone serious already has hardware for that but I’ll try on the next one. Thank you so much for acknowledging the effort and timing and music and editing that went into this. It took me like 40 hours or more with the research. I have a lot of other videos half filmed. They won’t be quite as good but I think I should get them out. They’ll still be decent… People really do that?!! Wow. That’s ballsie. Right now I’m so broke that I won’t be able to risk it I don’t think. I might start a Patreon… for real.. Also - my Dad was truly elite in infinite ways and he loved games more than me. Didn’t need the best gear cause he loved the games. He played with a basilisk. It’s still on his desk. I miss him always. He would stole this thing from me and would be up all night playing Diablo 4 while staying Zorz.

@@ZorzGaming don’t worry about the audio, I was particularly curious about these monitors due to the small effort they did implementing extras on them, and nobody really seems to go in depth about those, but like you said people that really care have other external setups. And yeah, people actually do that lol. I’ve seen quite a few people saying they’re glad they went through with the mod, but you’re right that its very ballsy with expensive ones like that. If you’re curious, you can see an exemple being done on Tom Kos GIY’s channel, named like “how to remove coating from monitor” or something like that. Video is far from being on the quality level of the things you’ve brought to us lately, tbh I didn’t really look into his channel that much, but it gives a good idea, and there’s a bunch of comments discussing experiences etc. Maybe next time you upgrade screens and have a spare one, if you have nothing else going on, you could give that a shot for content lol. Or when you become famous and have too much time and money to spare (should be a few months right?)…

Raven giving a professional monitor review. Hell yeah!! I'm legit coming from a CRT. I'm that guy. So me changing monitors is a big thing. I got the AW3423AWF & G8 OLED. I returned the AW3423AWF only because of minor things. Same panel. But the G8 has a slimmer design, remote control and HDMI 2.1. I can play 175hz @ 12bit. Even with DP. I got 175hz @ 10bit. The colors and vividness are so much better on the G8.. side by side with the same game. Good review and lots of useful information 👍

@@ZorzGaming That's because each picture preset (SDR and HDR) could be calibrated differently. And for HDR mode in Windows 11, the sRGB tone mapping is handled (poorly) by Windows. The two most accurate modes are SDR "Creator -> sRGB" and "Creator -> DCI-P3" as those two modes were factory calibrated. True Black 400 is decent for HDR content and EOTF tracks pretty well. For HDR 1000, there are still some issues with EOTF tracking which was not fixed in the recent firmware update. If you want ACCURATE modes, use sRGB when using general Windows desktop apps. Switch to HDR True Black (with contrast dropped to 67) when you want to play an HDR game or video. You could use DCI-P3 for SDR use but you will get oversaturated color...of course, some people like that effect.

I had the opportunity to use LG C2 42" before I finally decided to switch to Alienware AW3423DW. What convinced me about LG is the ability to use it in 16:9 and 21:9 aspect ratios, which I love depending on use. This is my first OLED monitor and I was a bit disappointed with the colors after switching from QLED, which were natural but not as vivid as I expected, the brightness was also too low and this was mainly the biggest problem ABL was visible and too aggressive for me, readability of fonts also left a lot to be desired and as I was determined to cover the glossy here literally everything was reflected including even my glowing keyboard. Alienware fixed all these problems only legibility of small fonts although it is better is still not perfect due to still non-standard pixel distribution. Highlights in HDR are really bright and make a lot more impression and colors are much more saturated, but still natural. LG C2 is a better choice for mixed usage and when you have consoles or you are not a fan of ultrawide and you don't mind using 42" for all the time. Otherwise, it's better to pay extra for Alienware or wait for new versions of QD-OLED V2, this is what I would probably do.

Apparently they did the test of the Alienware dw with gsync on so the latency is not as high with gsync off, + like you said HdR mode and tue black / Color is more accurate on the dw. Then again most gamers don't care so the 300$ mark up is basically if you want the slightly better monitor that you might not even notice unless you are testing it with pro hardware. My only concern is burn in. With the new oled monitors around the corner that will introduce heatsinks, i am waiting to pull the trigger. Maybe 2nd or 3rd gen oled monitors with Heatsink will change that, i need 240hz min with 2x HDMI 2.1. BTw great Review Mr Zorz and rhanks for the tools

Best video ever. The comment about no money, but have credit cards did hit hard ngl😵. Btw doesn't lg27" only has mla without the meta booster/brightness algorithm? - that one is only on the tvs, I guess lg was scared of burn in. Also, while maybe I'm not a pro, I still have to say the motion picture clarity is worth it just as a quality of life and experience improvement. The choices are so hard, especially since I don't even know if I would like curved UW, and that both of these are really expensive so you really don't want to make the wrong choice - in my country you can't return stuff just 'cuz, so you are conflicted with two though choices that you really don't want to screw up. Especially since you just know the resale value is gonna be near 0 since people would be scared of buying an oled panel due to the organic nature of it. Also wth doesn't lg offer burn in warranty? What's going on here with that. There's also the asus pg27aqdm, they have about 33% boost over LG's at 100% apl (190 vs 245nit) and around +200 nits at some hdr small window size, buut - no hdmi 2.1 again. It's just a mess rnow. I'm almost thinking of just waiting it out, since I already know many many many people have reported burn ins on the alien ware, and the warranty gives you less than perfect replacements. And on the LG's and asus end - you have no clue about the warranty. Sure, woled is great on tvs - I'd know. I have c1, but still, I don't display a hud for 10000 hours on it... What we need is some hacker to put in BFI in these firmwares somehow. I know 50% brightness isn't great for everything, but having the option for some games would be so good. The c1 BFI is amazing, I want that on the 240hz.

I don’t understand. I’m a xxxxing senior citizen and I just don’t understand. I read and watch Zorz Gaming because it is cool. I would like to humbly recommend some improvements. 1. Have an option that lets Zorz make decisions for you, and tells you what to buy. So that your life is “Decision Free.” 2. Have a place somewhere on line where Zorz devotees can meet and mingle. (Including seniors). 3. A phone number to call and have private consultations conversations for a reasonable fee. Based on your very educated opinion I now own 7 excellent monitors ($5,487) but I don’t think I need that many. Now I want to buy the new Alienware and think about buying the 47” one. The chubby young girl who lives across the street and two doors down from me helps me with my IT but doesn’t know anything about money. I wish there was a way Zorz could be more involved in my life. Create a feed that automatically announces new videos, maybe do events, you could ocasionally stream and chill with the Zorzies and stuff, for occasions or whatever, accept some donations while at it lol, etc.. After 20 years on pc, I'm losing interest in the hobby. I'll still play csgo and age of empires but when it comes to single player and stuff like that we have a lot of issues.
