Good story, politely I'd say the military aspect shows TOO much rear and uncertainty . Soldiers and especially commanders are more focused on reacting than peeing their pants. Maybe the inflection of the narrators quivering, high pitched squeal makes me doubt the capacity of the officers to lead. That command authority wasn't informed until the aliens already landed shows dereliction of duty. I'd listen to more if the troops were represented as determined and confident , as soldiers defending our planet would be. Thanks and keep trying.
