Make sure you have the resourceful skill and every time you rest. Quit back to the main menu and hit continue. When you load vack in it will allow you to rest again, without using up another tool. I regularly build up to 50 or 100 mags and go toe to toe with the horde using 4 or 5 smart guns and suppressing fire

A good mix keeps the spirit alive in the game. I wish there was more combat engagement and you wouldn't be punished for it as much.
This one isn’t for me, but still enjoy learning the gameplay and design in strategy games. I know strategy may be a little bit of a stretch in the truest since.
