We have, through the miracles of liberty and the free market technologies beyond what was dreamed in the 1960s. I know, I was there. So why would members of a space faring empire be impressed by the ISS? I'm a human and I'm not impressed by it considering where we should be by now it's embarrassing.

The iss isnt the same as it was when ot was first created. As our knowlage evolved so has the iss its always updating with new tech and equipment. Sad they plan to crash it

Friends maybe but we wouldn't show our true capabilities the una's would only get to see the minimal necessary to shut them up the real madness is reserved for them if they truly dare

Great story and it would be even greater to make it as real as the story feels by putting animation to it such as short movies narrated the same way. It’s fascinating that in years to come that open minds could sprawl into reality. We are not the only living species I am sure of that in the universe.

A decent story. If you used an AI as a template you did an excellent job of editing it to make it your own. As far as I can tell the bulk of this story is between 130 and 150 years from now. By that time some of the technology you talk about will be present or past tech (ex Quantum Computing). It also seems unlikely we would go to war over a single assassination (unlike pre WWI Europe) that needs some refining. Otherwise it is definitly a top tier HFY story.

It Was a great beginning until one person decided nope it wasn't for them and blew the whole day thing up. 5 different civilizations with they're own factions ...everyone fighting over Mars and the planet between Mars and Jupiter. That's why there's that massive asteroid belt after Mars. That Was a Planet

Who the A .I? That's not a human reading, it should be obvious. Did you notice that the title doesn't match the story? That's because these are A.I channels that people put up to generate money from KZread without having to put in the work that human ran channels do. The story is written and narrated by A.I. That's why it can't pronounce the same word the same way twice, and the story has two different endings read back to back. There are plenty of good human written and narrated stories on KZread to listen to other than this garbage.

i got lost when they were returning home and next few words were about losing the war. How could the same people discussing the alliance and a war that was centuries ago.

There's something about this story that sounds vaguely familiar.....haven't felt it sense

it was pretty good until they hit the train to Manhattan! - sorry- can't see NYC ever changing- first thing is the stench in the train hubs, then the people calling out for money- i wonder what it would be by then - 50? 100 credits? then someone in the delegation gets mugged , a drive-by occurs, you know a typical New York Summer Day....

This was written well. Spoiler alert, the reason for the conflict between the humans and the unas is just not very believable. These two species had fostered an alliance. One attack, even if it was confirmed that it was from an extreme faction of unas would not have caused the humas to respond in the way that they did.
