Just a heads up, Angelina's Lara Croft is based on the first Tomb raider video games that came out in 1996. Alicia's Lara Croft is based on the new games with the first one coming out in 2013. They are completely different ideas of the character and Alicia fits with the new games as Angelina fit with the older games.

She fit the role much better than I thought she would. Although the Lara Croft in the reboot game is far more educated and knows about much more than puzzles than the film counterpart, whereas in the film she is clever but not a historian or archaeology student who constantly educates us like she does throughout the game.

IllisMoreo Polygons are the blocks and bits (usually triangular shaped) to form 3D models, often talked about around games and model props. Why it's so funny is because Lara Croft's first game model had a LOW polygon count, which made her very pointy - especially her nipples ;)

We went to see Tomb Raider in it's original language instead of the Spanish dubbed because of Alicia Vikander's voice and accent, so well suited the character of Lara as we know it now, had to drive a little longer to get a theater.

I won't lie...I said I'll never watch the new Tomb Raider because nobody will be as good as Angelina Jolie. After the first 30 minutes I realized I was wrong. The deeper I got into the movie, the more wrong I realize I was. Ended up being my favorite TR movie.

They are both different takes on the character. Jolie's version is based on the first TR games, where Lara was already an established archeologist with a history of successfully raiding tombs. She's more confident and mature. Vikander's version is based on the 2013 rebooted series and its sequels, in which Lara is still very young and inexperienced. She's still building up her reputation and making a name for herself. She is more conflicted and still struggling to come to terms with her profession and how dangerous it can be. As a movie, I like the Vikander version better, but as a character I like Jolie's version better. But that's probably because I grew up with the early Tomb Raider games and came to identify Lara more with those games than I do with the rebooted version. I still like the reboot, but it didn't have as much of an impact on me as the originals did.

Of course you have a "swenglish" accent if you dont talk english every day and learn it. If you live abroad and use it every day you will get better, Alicia lived in London for example and just listen to Skarsgård family, they have that "american" accent instead =)

The recent movie she did based on the reboot of the Tomb Raider franchise in 2013 means a lot to me. The 2013 game helped me a lot with depression and insomnia plus the second game as well. She (in my opinion) was perfect in the roll of Laura Croft, when you see people tear up when they see the franchise they fell in love with as a kid come back after so many years that was me during the movie :)

@Dawn E I suppose you’re talking about the Rrrr, which was a challenge for me too when I first learned Swedish (not my native language either) I can’t promise anything, but here’s my tip: make your tongue bend upwards but not in a pointy way, make sure all edges of the tongue covers up the part just behind your upper teeth (U shape) . Now if you’re doing this correctly, the center of your tongue shouldn’t be touching anything while all edges do, and you basically cannot breath with your mouth at all. Then, inhale and cover up the channel which air passes through the nose (the same way when you say any word that builds pressure inside your mouth before releasing them, it’s all words that causes people to accidentally spit) make sure no air passes through the nose. Lastly, relax your tongue while still maintaining its position and release the necessary required air out of the mouth instead, thus pushing your tongue to vibrate. (The same thing little kids does with their lips instead of tongue) I hope that helps.
