Alice with LBV-88 Set Up

I love Alice era gear. I’ve been using it since I was about 14 years old. Getting the LBV-88 is the next step in continuously improving the usability of old gear. It fits well over armor, carries weight comfortably, and can be quickly scaled using Alice clips.

Thanks. I want and saw your most recent video already. Seems pretty similar. The Eagle H-harness I have in another video is also pretty badass.

Pretty sweet, actually. Did you adjust the mag placard to fit between the vest straps or did you adjust the height of the vest to fit the placard? Does it squeeze the plate against your chest or does it still work well loose? Also how did that buttpack with canteens fair without being tied in to the harness above the beltline? I'm just curious cause it looks awkward and I've never used the bigger ones like that Thanks for sharing 🤙

The placard placement just happened to be exactly where you’d want it. Nothing was too tight. I put the vest on loose and then snugged it up. I don’t think I covered any distance with the canteens on the buttpack like in the video. I have covered miles with the buttpack in that position on a couple different rigs, and have videos on those. Only issue is it maaaay cause some swamp ass.

@samrussell0331 eyyy that's super cool! I just tried it with my 6094 and it fits great. Even plays well with the side plates. Makes the natural reload from the strong side a bit more of a stretch since the LBV mags are now under my armpit instead of across the ribs but the placard sits perfect center anyway. Didn't have to adjust a thing 👌 I think these were just designed to ride over flak vests so it's neat how comfortable it is with full plates. Of course there's some loss in mobility but I'm not trying to do combat yoga. Cheers man and happy new year 🤠

Did you use electrical tape to tape your knife to your leg?

I think what you’re seeing is the couple places on these pants where they used black fabric.

probably need to transition to a dedicated belt and LBV vs combining those things. Typically division of labor for those components of kit optimizes for what each does best but combining them is going to work against you. Also you will want the option to not run a secondary.

This rig has been superseded by my Eagle Industries H-Harness, which is my most watched video. I actually ordered a modern version of the vest in this video about an hour ago. I want a rig where I can throw on one rig and be set for 24 hours. I have no plan to run a secondary on these 24 hour rigs.

Jetboil lol. Try an esbit stove and your canteen cup and save a few pounds. Just a guess, you never served?

I’m a Marine. I was in a weapons company. We were always in humvees so weight wasn’t an issue. After our Gunny got one, we all did. Mine died recently so I’ll check out your suggestion.

@@samrussell0331 I think you'll be pleased. If not that that tiny canister stove would be my next suggestion. As former army ranger I know enlisted don't make what were worth. Instead of esbit fuel I buy the Coghlans brand fuel tablets. Save a few bucks.
