Alice Springs town meeting ‘disrupted’ by ‘progressive individuals’ hurling abuse

Country Liberal Party Senator Jacinta Nampijinpa Price says members of the Alice Springs community are “willing to bring a class action” against the Northern Territory government after a large town meeting.
“I think this will be the beginning of probably many more possible meetings to come,” Ms Nampijinpa Price told Sky News host James Morrow.
“I know there are a lot residents that felt like it should’ve gone longer, but it was disrupted by a small group of progressive individuals.
“How dare they bring that nonsense to effectively what is a community meeting of voices who are wanting to be heard.”

Alcohol has never been a good thing for Aboriginals. It did more harm to their culture than any other thing. It's very sad that 4 year olds are being treated for STD's , and domestic violence is out of control. It has in many communities, essentially destroyed a culture that was very family oriented, leaving many children without stability nor direction.

Jacinta is being sidelined by our present Government. What's new. This issue has been ignored forever, decades ago while riding camels up the track near Alice Springs we were confronted by many local Australian Aboriginals hurling abuse and obscenities at us somewhat regarding the nature of ownership of the Country. The uncountable number of Goons (empty flagons of wine) were strew from one end of the surrounding town to the other. Now next generations in the same situation. Give the kids COMPULSORY SPORTS activities to fill in their time. Come on NSW Rugby League there could be some stars out there.

Alcohol restrictions would help and so would a return to the cashless card. Measures like this help control symptoms but do nothing to resolve the endemic problems. Difficult social and political decisions must be taken for any resolution of the issue. That would take extraordinary determination and cooperation across the political spectrum. Alice Springs problems are as a direct result of the woke generation. These woke people, who probably foisted the "stolen generation " upon us are going to cause untold damages into the future. Alice Springs problem could probably be summed up in one word - Expectation. In most civilisations there is Expectation that starts at a young age. Usually the Expectation to go to school, followed by the Expectation to achieve grades. This Expectation extends as years go by, an Expectation to be a fine, upstanding member of the community. Sure, that Expectation can be difficult some days, days where we can't really be stuffed going to work, but ultimately we do because if we don't, someone else has to do our job and we've let the system down. So we must live up to Expectation. The government has the task of ensuring that the Expectation carries thru, that the schooling doesn't fail the kids, that after the school years finish the kids are employable. Then they must do all they can to enable these young people to start their journey into a workforce, and that leads on to a meaningful life with good values, home ownership etc. Alcohol restrictions is really an idiotic response.

I would also say the problem is economics. You tell these kids they need to respect their Elders but what have the elders passed down to them Generational wealth or a economic base ? . Essentially just crumbs And generational trauma , No structure ,Normalised drug abuse, Normalised domestic violence, no discipline, no life skills And those children are poorer without it . Personally I have actually seen this on the job Where employers and managers straight up do not want to hire Aboriginal people , and this is happening in this modern day and age . But they're pretty closeted and hush hush about it . then The dominant Society Has the audacity to ask why indigenous Australians are Disproportionately unemployed . It's straight up economic sabotage , And economics affects everything it affects education, Mental and physical health ,Crime ,Family dynamics And housing
