You can adjust those springs on female end. I have Finnish army gas mask bag that i have used since 2003 as a edc bag and all you need to do is use needle nouse pliers and carefully pull those "springs" or wire thingies closer to center of the hole.

These were typical of the ALICE gear. What they used in Vietnam at first were the M1945 tropical first aid kit pouches that were restocked before being shipped over. It was a canvas pouch with a flap with the lift-a-dot fasteners, several small compartments and a belt loop to fit over the pistol belt and the hook fasteners as well.

I just bought one of these (albeit empty) at my local surplus store for $10 to use as a boo-boo kit when I’m hiking but was curious about what the original contents were. Thank you!

I like the plastic boxes. Everything else is pretty average - I just dump it in my medical stockpile. I think you're better building your own IFAK as there are way better contents nowadays.

What would you put together for a civilian First Aid Kit today for someone that travels by car through unpopulated areas, target shoots etc.? It's a question I see this topic tossed around on youtube but some are small and others huge and there are big differences. Maybe a better way to ask is what do you carry when you travel by vehicle?

To know what to carry, you first need training. Having medical equipment is useless if you dont know how to use it.
