The beutiful Alice Faye singing the stunning ballad "One Never Knows, Does One?" from the 1936 film "Stowaway." Her co-stars were Robert Young and Shirley Temple.
Жүктеу.....

This song proves what I have said many times, and will say for the rest of my life. They didn't write songs back then, they worked miracles.

Hope you can add “You’ll Never Know”. I tear up every time she sings that.

This song makes me cry! I love how jazzy her voice is...the way she sings does one just makes me smile. Sigh...I love how Robert Young can hear her in the movie as he is in the room above her. He is a great actor. I love the crescendo at the end of the song.

She seems like a very nice lady. I am dling a number of her movies and looking forwards to her performances. Never much liked Betty Grable movies but Alice seems like a real actress.

Alice covers me in a cloud of true romance. She shows me how love really could feel.

This is from a time when songs were more often about love than sex, drugs and rock n roll. No need to pour negativity on sex, drugs and rock n roll, but as Richard Rogers said once, "Sweetness and light have been around a long time." And they can carry on being around for a long time yet, as far as I'm concerned.

"One never knows, does one? and when one does one is never sure, once one knows what has gone before...." anyone know the rest of this humorous poem? Nothing to do with the song which is great and beautifully sung.
