There's allot of comments here that miss your point, I get it. I'm a fan of THIS BAND Michael Bruce, Dennis Dunaway, Glen Buxton, Vincent Furnier, Neal Smith...and lastly Alice Cooper...which was a concept not a person. But yeah, he is cool, though, that guy...this band was one of the greatest rock bands of all time, though...allot more than pretty alright or "cool." Sorry, Alice.

Unless you lived in this time period, you can't understand how dangerous Alice Cooper was. My parents hated him, but I was enthralled by him. 50 years later I still am.

Michael Bruce was the very essence of The original Alice Cooper band, with Alice/Vincent vocals at the very front, killing it all in a good way for all of us .

Remember Alice too his cue from Screamin' Jay, the Crazy World of Arthur Brown, Coven, MC5 and the Stooges!

I met Alice in 1978. In fact, I hung out with him the better part of a day. He was without a doubt, the nicest, coolest and most down to earth rock star that I ever met. What a great guy!

I think Alice - the Charakter - got best represented on the og band tours & the 1979 Madhouse Rock Tour.

I had the pleasure of seeing Alice Cooper in the early 70s at the Boston Garden. Great performance. What people today don't understand is this was unheard of in 71.

@Practical Skeptic while I'm Eighteen got heavy airplay on CKLW-AM, once FM rock radio stations came along the first song(s) I heard was Second Coming/Ballad. If I'd been old enough to drive I would've gone too. In fact I missed seeing the original group.

It's the only line-up of this band I like, before it went heavy rock.

They didn't go onstage and just play, they gave you a show that is unforgettable. The music, the props, the theatrics..second to none!

Having not read the 101 comments before me, I hope somebody said that the original Alice Cooper Group is one of the most underrated bands in Rock Music. If not, it is.

Agree 100% and I did agree with this lineup of players when they felt the theatrics were becoming a little too much.

Great Performance!

At this point he was still developing ! Fun to watch this .By the time of Billion Dollar Babies Alice was extremely intense on stage and his band was amazing .

There's no getting around it, it took serious balls for these guys to do a slow dirge like Black Juju on television! They didn't rush or shorten it, they took their time and wrung it out for all it was worth. " I'm 18" was certainly radio- friendly enough to not be all that radical or out of place on television, but Black Juju is a whole 'nother thing......and then there's the props and stage show. The host, producer, and cameramen must have been going like "what the fuck?". I'm surprised nobody pulled the plug on them. This makes me happy.

WOW! A Phenomenal moment for a Phenomenal band. Blisteringly raw performance ! Just the way i like 'em .

Love it to Death was/is one of those albums I could listen to all the way through. As a teen listening to Black Ju-Ju on eight track, it had almost a mystical quality.

When they started that way I assumed it was because it was to playback for TV, but no they were definitely playing live

"The new song 'Eighteen'" was released November 1970. This show has to be in that month.

Bought tickets for Bl.Sabbath in 1971...Alice Cooper was the opener. We had no clue who " she" was.Needless to say we were big fans after their incredible performance.Two uniformed nurses escorted Alice onstage.He was in a strait jacket.Epic. Gaelic Park Bronx NY. We were 14

The original AliceCooper band is without ANY F. KIN' DOUBT one of the best 4 groups ever. They fully developed by there third albumn LoveItToDeath-begining with 18 , and out played the sh t out of everyone. I saw them multiple times!

This was 1971, Alice was scary and wild, people didn't know what to think. They pushed the envelope and those of us who 'got' it loved it to death. They truly started a lot of what became, metal, glam and shock rock. And, they were a 'Killer' band too boot.

I LOVE Alice and the Band,My mom wouldn't let me listen to them when they came out I was 7 I think, FORTUNATELY I had an uncle who was 16 and a sister who was 10 years older than me who had ALL their stuff and I got to listen, I FELL IN LOVE W THEM I am 55 now and when I first saw them perform I was like OMG MOM This is what you didn't want me watching or listening to? I introduced my kids to Alice's music when they were BABIES and they loved it!! They still do,A FAN 4EVER, ✌👍😁🙂💜❣

One of my biggest regrets in my life, musically anyway, was when Alice played 15 miles from my house. I was a 15yo fanboy and made no attempt to see him because I assumed it was unattainable. This was approx 1974. Grand Haven , MI, At a rollerskating arena. Oh how I wish...

Are you sure it wasn't '71? they played the Kentwood roller rink there in May '71...not questioning your memory because maybe they came back later...but the original band played their last shows ever in Brazil in April 1974...

I love how the crowd is just silent after Black Juju. These guys were definitely ahead of their time!

Yes, Alice Cooper, David Bowie, Black Sabbath, the Ramones, Metallica, Slayer, AC/DC, the Blizzard of Ozz, Nirvana, Motorhead, Black Flag, the Melvins and just a handful of other bands left audiences shell shocked.

Initially this band was the Alice Cooper not just Vincent Furnier. I think this band as a unit was one of the best of the era.

Grow up with ,Alice and Sabbath since 72' .ten years young still the early stuff from both bands greatest til today.😁🙂

Alice cooper is the greatest. The first record of Alice I bought in a k mart in Michigan..it had two songs on it..elected and raped and freezing.. i t was a forty five and the next week I bought the new billion dollar babies album...holy shit my mom freaked out when I brought it home

1/2 of this crowd probably went to see the Partridge Family the night before and then here comes Alice Cooper like a bolt of lightning

Wow, been listening to this song for near 50 years but this is the 1st time I've heard it live. Unreal, what a band they truly were.

I thought the original Alice Cooper line up was one of the best American rock bands....ever.

Wow - I saw them in 1971 and I was only 14. I had just had my tonsils removed. The show was at Memorial Auditorium in Louisville. My friends and I had seats pretty close to the front. Black Juju is kinda like a voodoo ritual!

The picture quality of this is astonishing for 1971! What a treat. Thanks for sharing this.

Watching this clip brings back great memories. I saw Alice Cooper in June of 1971. It was probably my favorite concert experience ever. They were introduced as "the world's most glamorous band" and I'm pretty sure they did every song off Love It To Death and closed with "Return of the Spiders" with chicken feathers flying out over the crowd. It was a pretty small club The Wild Goose and I was right up front.

Saw the original band twice. After they broke up, it's still the only AC music I listen to.

That was the album they were still pushing at this point. These were tunes they were trying out live.

Black Juju is a Pink Floyd-like beast of song. Why this opus never saw airplay baffles me.

Black Juju is one of the greatest tracks of all times. Such a pity it never got well known. PS. - These people down there were so lucky.

This was too cool I was lucky to see this Band Doing this show when i was about 12 Doing the whole 18 LP me And My Brother we in Front of the stage At The Cobo hall autorama But they Had awesome Bands Back then I think Bob seger and Tegarden and Vanwinkle Played this Show Then the Lights When Off This was In The Basement Of Cobo When the Light Came alice was wearing the Dress Off The LP Cover and Then the Coolest Show i ever Have seen Started I will Never Forget That Night What a Memory

Too many good tunes on that LP to name one best. I was huge a fan back then and had all 6 original LPs; most have never heard of them I learned not to fall asleep with this tune on as it will wake your ass up.

While the whole album is brilliant, I must have played Caught in a Dream a million times. Just a great straight ahead rocker.

I was like 8 years old the first time I heard Alice Cooper it was Killer album I am 58 now and still a huge fan.

That first song is really edgy. All the hardcore Alice Cooper fans understand what I mean by that.

I was one of those 10 to 15 people and we knew. We used to watch them tape the show all the time but we usually had to stay in the back with the roadies and groupies. Oh, and I was 18 at the time.

What a performance! Sound quality could be a lot better, yet it is early 70's! Very rare, and catches the complete essence of the Alice Cooper Band, and the indelible mark they left upon the music industry, and for future performers that still carry on the torch today! True trailblazers!!! Thanks Frank Zappa, Bruce Richards, and of course the Coop himself, and the rest of the great Alice Cooper Band!!!

My older brother saw them on the killer tour.. I loved this band. I used to have a paper route. I bought schools out and billion dollar babies.and they were on the first in concert. With the hanging. 6 months later this place called capital centre opened. Tickets were $ 3.50. And this new band called zz top opened. Just great

WOW!! What an amazing piece of footage (from an historical standpoint!) to come across! I always thought that there was hardly ANY footage of the original band's performances anywhere to speak of! Thank you for putting me in a time machine and taking me back to this!!

I think his vocals were the very best on the “Killer” album. I’ve read stories that Bob Ezrin would have him do so many takes that he would become horse and with a sore throat. But this is probably one reason why he became a great vocalist.
