Cuban guitarist Ali Arango has won the final of the International Classical Guitar Competition Andrés Segovia. A prestigious contest with the name of one of the greatest guitarists in history.
This international competition was held from 17 to 21 January 2017, in the Spanish town of La Herradura, in the city of Almuñecar, in the area of Granada.

This guitarist has previously won different competitions, specifically in the year 2014 he won the Alhambra International Guitar Competition.
At the moment, Ali Arango is playing with a Alhambra by the luthier José María Vilaplana, the model called "Vilaplana NT Series".

Bravo! Ali, you are a wonderful player, and you deserve to be recognized. The Alhambra signature guitars are born of a traditional construction method with the best selected organic materials. The master builders at Alhambra produce instruments that are dynamic, powerful, and are easy to play. They all have a bold yet mysterious "Spanish voice." which is of course the soul of the guitar.

I have just acquired an Alhambra 9p cedar top guitar after not playing for a few years. I used to own a 1999 Ramirez 1a which I sold right after I stopped playing. Did not want to spend too much this time and had heard great things about Alhambra. I am amazed at the quality and sound of my new guitar. Though I do not have my Ramirez to judge side by side I can attest that this guitar is an equal in volume and tone production, with my Savarez Alliance strings. I don't know if I have a one off 9p that sounds exceptional or that they are all like this one but I am so happy with my purchase. In my opinion Alhambra guitars especially with their high end offerings are a great choice for any formal guitarist.

El concurso tuvo lugar en Santiago de Compostela-Baltazar Benítez y Felipe Rosheger. Now I got the guitar, one thing I need to do is to get those skills and techniques. 😂😂😂
I liked Chopin's waltz. Not the rest. The rest has fine tone (the expensive instrument can well separate each), but not too varied nuances because you rush through, like somebody is chasing you. Then everything sounds same. Maybe the machine-gun play was necessary for the "show-off" for the competition? Don't. Rather don't win, but allow yourself time to sculpt nuances. This is art. Use cheaper guitar, which, in order to build a proper tone, will slow you down.
I'm afraid that "responds to timid demands" is a mistranslation of what Ali said. It should be "timbral", i.e., relating to timbre. There is nothing timid about Ali's playing!
