Society evolves and so do the artist response to it. The best of artist are those who are able to strategically respond to the changing demands and still remain relevant. The world had moved to a faster tempo since the early 90s and you could see that from his output then. At a point Barrister was losing followership bcos he refused to evolve until he made the song that "toba sepe saje lo láyé, eje kajo máa ko..." He too had to respond otherwise the new breeds would drive them out. Apart from that with age comes some change in vocals. We can't have it so sweet forever but one thing is clear, Killington's transition and voice is forever unique to him. No one like him.

No one should ask why old music is better than this new generation music. I feel sorry for this teenagers of 21st Century. They felt they're listening to good music but they're just punishing their ear drums. They might think technology is helping them but it's just killing their music. They produce music which is created by Auto Cue. * No Agogo * No Shekere * No Back up singers * No Hawaaian guitar * No Sakara * No Talking drum * No Omele * Gudu Gudu If all these are missing in a music then what is left except crap, nonsense and absolute rubbish. No wonder their track is only 3 to 4 minutes. Technology is good but it has ruined good music. Music of yester-years is a lot better than nowadays because to sing Juju in those days, you'll first of all learn how to play guitar. Then you'll assemble different people with different talents to back you up. Same thing with Apala. Music of this generation is encompass in auto cue. That's the reason when modern artiste do a live show, they'll get a DJ to play their CDs and they mime to it. King Sunny Ade, Fela Anikulapo Kuti, Ayinde Barrister and Wasiu Ayinde would take all their band boys with them on concerts. The most annoying part of the whole thing is while singing, these modern day artistes would be grabbing his scrotum as if he's just been circumcised 😆 Let's have a debate about music. I would bring lots of old music and the new generation artiste would disappear through the back door.

Anything from 80s to 90s we have only 5legends in Nigeria...Kebe Kwara, Ayinde Barrister, King Sunny Ade, EBENEZER Obey and Fela Anikulapo Kuti...u must belong to one of dem....but my favourite was Kebe Kwara and Ayinde Barrister....

Please guys, how can I get in touch with Professor General Alhaji Ayinla Kollington? My mother will be celebrating her 80th birthday this December back in Nigeria and Alhaji Ayinla has always being my mom's preference and that of myself and my siblings. Please, leave your feedback here. Thanks!
