A very clear introduction to the laser cutter/engraver. Everything I have seen online has made them seem very intimidating and difficult to set up and use. I would make signs and things for fibre crafting such as bobbins and mini weaving tools.

Hello Karen, nice to see your journey on this side road. One thing to keep in mind with this laser is that it ISN'T a toy. The laser beam WILL damage your eyesight ( or a person close to the laser ). Whilst I doubt the risk is high when cutting or engraving wood when you bent over to look at the reflective vinyl you were cutting I think there is a risk then of exposure, not trying to alarm you but I am tyting to get you to be careful.

Watch out for your eyes, the laser can reflect off what you are engraving/cutting. Never stand around it without wearing eye protection. Most of the tinted glasses that come with these are sub par, replacing them with a better quality ones are recommended.

Oh no. Please don't laser cut vinyl unless it is specifically laser safe. Vinyl breaks down to produce chlorine. Also, you may have learned by now to use more eye protection.
