    Here are the key takeaways from the web page chunk: **[Emoji 1] ** [Takeaway 1] 🌌 Black holes are incredibly powerful objects that can have a devastating effect on any object that comes too close. **[Emoji 2] ** [Takeaway 2] 🌍 The Earth is no match for a black hole, and would be completely destroyed if it were to come into contact with one. These takeaways are supported by the evidence in the video. The video shows a simulation of what would happen if a black hole were to approach the Earth. The black hole's gravity quickly pulls the Earth apart, causing it to collapse into a disk of hot plasma. The Earth's atmosphere is also stripped away, leaving the planet a barren wasteland. The video also includes comments from the creator, who explains that the simulation is as accurate as possible, given the limitations of the software being used. The creator also notes that the effects of a black hole on the Earth would be even more devastating than what is shown in the simulation. These key takeaways are important for understanding the dangers of black holes. They also highlight the power of scientific simulations, which can be used to explore complex phenomena that would be impossible to study in the real world.

    Beautiful but physically inaccurate, the fact that any piece of water or land would escape the gravity of the event horizon is unrealistic

  • @catpoke9557

    @catpoke9557

    Жыл бұрын

    I think perhaps they didn't actually touch the event horizon and just got flung out very near to it? Given the right angle and speed that can happen, though most particles would just enter orbit rather than leaving the black holes entirely. My biggest gripe with this simulation is actually how much material enters the black hole directly. Most material first gets torn apart, orbits, and then gets slowly siphoned into the black hole as its orbit gets closer in real life. The luckiest bits of matter will get to fling out but that's few and far between. Also the black holes in this video are too stable when placed near each other. They should be orbiting each other.

  • @Andy620Jose

    @Andy620Jose

    Жыл бұрын

    @@catpoke9557 it would require the object to have a very substantial mass and external forces acting on it, increasing its speed before even coming near the blackhole. A particle of land or water from the earth rotating normally would not escape the orbit of a blackhole at all

  • @beardedzeus1337

    @beardedzeus1337

    Жыл бұрын

    @@Andy620Jose it would likely get turned to dust if it got super close sure but unless the angle of the particle is literally straight at the black holes center, the odds of a particle actually hitting the event horizon are very deterministic upon angular momentum in the orbital mechanics. Any small deviation could give it the right angular momentum to slingshot around the very outer edge of the event horizon(as shown in this simulation pretty well) Any particle that doesn't directly impact the event horizon will be accelerated to such speeds that would 100% allow it to escape the external gravitational pull of a black hole. They are not vacuums that constantly pull things towards their center, you can achieve stable orbit around one and as such there absolutely is an escape velocity for them starting from some % the speed of light a mere 1mm above the event horizon and getting weaker the further from the event horizon you get(distance and speed based on its mass). Also, a small enough and dense enough object would not be subjected to the extreme tidal forces that would shred larger planets, most small objects would have to be well inside the event horizon before it would get shredded by tidal forces(proof: Earth would have to be well within the surface of the Sun before it got shredded by the Suns tidal forces. Math: the roche limit of the Earth/Sun system is roughly 550,000 km from the center of the Sun and the surface of the Sun is roughly 700,000 km from its center, so the Earth would need to be roughly 150,000 km inside the Suns surface, completely engulfed, before the tidal forces would begin shredded it. Granted a 1 solar mass black hole is fairly small but the roche limit would be similar so Earth would get shredded long before the event horizon, but small object would be able to get far closer.) Like Cat Poke said what would actually happen in reality would be the Earth shredding and its dust particles orbit around the Black Hole, some escaping due to the angles of their initial approach, until finally falling into the Black Hole over a long period of time as their highly elliptical orbits shrink. Fun fact: if we replaced the Sun with a 1 Solar Mass black hole.... nothing at all would change as far as the planets orbits are concerned.

  • @yallareblind4948

    @yallareblind4948

    Nothing escaped the event horizon. The event horizon is the black part of the “black hole”. Black holes are not vacuum cleaners, a star with a set mass will have a certain gravitational strength at a certain distance, the closer you are, the strong it gets, same with black holes, but stars have a surface. By compressing the star we retain the same mass but have less surface, meaning that we can get much closer, as mentioned closer=stronger gravity. If the star is compressed small enough it will keep compressing down due to its own gravity until it has no surface. We can now travel infinitely close to this star’s center, at least in theory. After reaching a certain distance, gravity has increased so much that not even light can escape, this forms a boundary known as the event horizon, which as explained, is the black part of the hole. Eventually gravity is so strong it rips atoms and subatomic particles apart, which is the point where you die. The star hasn’t gained the ability to suck in objects when it collapsed, it has the same mass, and same gravity, you can just get much closer to it’s center now, which is also why objects can orbit the black hole if they haven’t crossed the event horizon. The sheer gravity of the black hole also accelerates the object into orbit. Furthermore, black holes spin, this means that the gravity and rotation energy of the black hole tugs objects sideways at more than 99% the speed of light. This is why accretion disks(the glowy matter around the black hole) stay in orbit and only fall in very slowly despite what you may think. Any object falling into a black hole isn’t slurped up, it joins the accretion disk, slowly spiraling in over long periods of time. You either had a misconception about where the event horizon is located, you do not fully understand black holes, a combination of the former, or you misspoke in a hurry. Your explanation is flawed - #yallareblind
