Alfalfa Sprouts, Best Quality to Consume for Highest Health Benefits

SUBSCRIBE FOR MORE!: bit.ly/2OsRhsi
Alfalfa sprouts are naturally abundant in certain plant compounds, like coumestrol, and are a cleansing nutritious food source. Being very easy to grow and mass produce, they are one of the few sprouts found in common everyday grocery stores.
Typically grown vertically and sold in small square containers or larger flats, they are a living enzyme-rich food that can be easily incorporated into the diet or interchanged periodically with other sprout favorites. Learn more about the controversial L-canavanine content as well as the food safety issues associated with commercially grown alfalfa sprouts.

I have been growing and eating my own sprouts since the early 70's and have never had any kind of problem. I do soak in filtered water and always have.

Fresh seeds that are stored properly can last up to 4 years. This is covered in the video. I store my seeds in a glass jar, which I store in a dark cool cupboard. Once you sprout and rinse your sprouts they will keep in the fridge for up to 4 days. Only sprout what your family will consume in 3-4 days.

Way to go, Michael. Nothing could be simpler and thanks for the tip using filtered water. I understand why they took the sprouts off the market in grocery stores though, and the warmings from FDA ---it's not easy to control every step and temperature of the growing and distribution process. Growing you own is fun too.

If alfalfa sprouts are high in phytoestrogens, does that mean they are not recommended for men?? Phytoestrogens found in walnuts and almonds I've heard are not good for men's testosterone levels.
