Nice one! Managed it in the end. Couldn't get in my head how the metal clipped workout. Then it was a pain to clip back once I replaced the bulb! Something must've of not been lining up. But all of a sudden it went in. Thanks

Hands are too cold this morning myself. Just spent 10minutes myself and not managed so far. Will wait till it's warmer. Top tip do it after you get back driving from somewhere. It keeps your hands warm. Your thumb just isn't strong enough when cold.

After video, I changed bulbs so they were in correct way! Light coverage much improved. Bet there are loads of other Guilietta drivers with bad visibility from dipped headlights due to having bulb in at wrong rotation point. Let me know if yours are too. Take picture and find out

Mine are in the wrong way, the non circular metal part of the bulb needs to be pointing up?

@@listertr2756 yes should be pointing up. I was always so relieved before camera phones just to get them in. Never really thought about it

This is very good video. I am trying to do this on mine at the moment. Could Halfords people do this if I find it impossible ?Are the Philips GT200 H7 (200% Brighter) bulbs worth going for as I have noticed in night driving the edge of the road is not as bright as I would like unless I put the front fog lights on.

Hi David, Glad you found video useful. I put in some Bosch ones last time mine went. Paid a little more. Like you are suggesting. Visibility brightness patterns are aproblem sticking bulb in at wrong 120degree doesn't help either. I've made another video regarding poor visibility. As my headlights had an advisory for visibility. Mine was mainly caused from headlights needing sanded down. Has made a real difference 10months on from when I did it. Only planning to put video up soon as wanted to include what it looked like 10months later

Halfords will try and fix for 9quid. Was in buying bulbs. Guy told me he hadn't done one on a Guilietta yet! Wish him luck! So for nine pond it's well worth getting them to do it. If you dont fancy attempting yourself

You mean "xenon", there are no xenon bulbs here. Unless you meant halogen?

Is the wire connected to the bulb just a pull out or is there a catch or up and down movement?

I tend to take the headlights out to change the bulbs - ridiculous I know, but now I know how to do it it’s not too bad!! Silly design though!!

I changed both mine yesterday took me ages! I've not got 2nd one seated either. So now it's too tight to undo the spring. Will have a go at it tomorrow. I've upgraded to 200percent brighter lights. What a pain checking lights day before MOT

I dont get it how to remove metal clip. I push it down and I have to move on side to get out ftom hooks?

You'll need to keep reading what I wrote. I had to do all this before camera phones were rubbish. Now we've all got great phones to keep looking at it. You need to study the pictures of the clip! Think what it's doing. Memorise what it looks like. You are kind of arcing it out to avoid it going back in the clip once you've pushed it

I did it! It doesn't need hard pressure. But when you have to back on it need a bi stronger to pull on the hooks

@@Gorky25 yeah just enough pressure to get past hooks before you arch it out under them. That's why I say stop and hold and think! so you don't end up going back in hooks. Well done! Saved you loads of money getting someone to do it taking the car apart!

Done this and took me an hour, clip come off so had to put it back in the little holes without being able to see what i eas doing. I got burned because i did it after having the lights on, i got cut and massive bruising.

where did you get the info that the bulbs should be flat side up? it seams everyone's are 120 degrees out, surely all those mechanics & indeed the alfa factory can't be wrong?

If you feel it you will see it actually only fits tightly tightly one way. Is a groove. That's what I found and thought.. Also look at filament I thought look what way it makes brightness I thought. Ie. You have to choose your angle. I would have thought surely vertical or horizontal was right. Ie each end of filiment is in a line. Or should it be at an angle? It is if in two other positions? What does your logic tell you? Could doing it an angle be better? Most people will be glad to get it in.

I spent an hour struggling to do it until i dropped the lightbulb and it was unreachable. 😂 Had to take out the entire headlight

Sorry to hear that. Next time. If you find the right person at Halfords they will do it for 9.99 if you buy bulb as well. It depends who you get. Well worth it to be honest. They may though refuse as it is hard. If my back or shoulder were sore I'd be tempted to take it there for them to try

Their brutal to change lost the retaining clip inside the headlight had to buy a big magnet I was losing the tatty 😄

Did you use magnet to find clip? You did well to find it given lack of room.

@@cranswil it was actually the easiest part of the job. I got it using a flexible silverline magnet first time but getting the clip back through the holes was soul destroying

@@mrbrownz554 yeah it's a real feel and lots of thinking which side you are on. Cameras are so much better these days to work that out. But yeah great achievement not giving up. I remember same thinking. Oh.... It's in my hand and not attached. But persisting and saying I won't give up. It was winter too. I kept having to try and fit bulb after driving back from work so that there was still heat in engine bay to keep my hands from freezing. It took so long those first few times
