    @@JayBruceWorld it does not matter at all if you have 1, 2 or 10 humbuckers. Pickup model affects a bit how easily you can pull the pinch harmonics off, but not the number of pickups.

  • @JayBruceWorld

    @JayBruceWorld

    5 жыл бұрын

    Tyonhakija that’s not even remotely true. One pickup = one magnetic field pulling on the strings. This equals increased sustain and harmonics. Everyone knows that a single pickup guitar equals a more aggressive sound.

  • @AnonymousUser66649

    @AnonymousUser66649

    @@JayBruceWorld Nope. Guitar pickups have so little magnetic pull that they don't affect the sustain that much really. Check out youtube videos where people compare sustain with real super powerful magnets to guitar pickups and the super powerful magnets affect the sustain by a second or so. Those magnets can pull like 1000x more than a guitar pickup. I've been working with guitars almost my whole life and i hate when people create their own theories in their mind. These myths have been busted million times already, so i just can't understand why people still believe them.

  • @JayBruceWorld

    Tyonhakija dude, if you’ve been working with guitars “your whole life” but can’t recognize the massive sonic difference between one pickup and two pickups, you shouldn’t even be touching a guitar. Just the amount of windings in a pickup drastically effects the results. The thickness of the wire, the windings, the type of magnets used, coil shape, winding pattern and magnet placement all are huge determinants of tone and harmonic capabilities and that’s just in one pickup. All of those factor into how the signal is sent through the amp. If those minute details effect tone that drastically, surely the omission of an entire pickup will greatly effect tone.

    Paul Kirk was it at the myth in Minneapolis? I was there too! I think it was actually a broken collar bone (left side) from when he fell off his bunk on the tour bus. I've broken my left collar bone as well and I couldn't put the weight of a guitar on it for months! You have to admire the man's dedication! I have no idea how he pulled off that set

    I guess it came naturally quick to people like me then.. I literally took up practicing alternate picking about a good month into learning guitar basics, and then about a few months in, I started learning economy picking. I pretty much have most other techniques down, but sweeps are still getting there.. Sweeping from the higher strings to the low are easy for me, but for some reason, sometimes I get caught more going from the lower to higher strings.

    I've been listening to CoB for years now and watching videos like this of Alexi for just as long and this is the first time I've actually noticed how powerful is alternate picking is. When most people alternate pick they kind of tap the string on the upstroke; not Alexi. Alexi uses the same amount of force on his upstroke as he does on the downstroke. Which if you think about it makes his speed even more impressive.
