Well to be honest, at the end of round third he couldn’t get himself up and nedeed his corner to put him on the chair, the fight should’ve been stopped, but congrats to herb dean for not doing it, it was an awesome fight that deserved 5 rounds

definitely man. He took so much damage in this fight and against Max. He needs to learn defense. Fights like those take years off your career. You can only take so much damage before your chin is compromised.

I don't know about spirit, he never stopped coming, bit exaggerated; while he was bloodied up he kept coming obviously more a bleeding factor than physical damage or crushing spirit.

Man this fight delivered. I wanna see them go at it again.

If there's a big length discrepancy and theyre sweaty enough it can happen when guys are tired. Its happened in UFC let alone pride

Volkanovski has no fear... Ortega showed him how dangerous he is on the ground, and Volk still stayed in his guard, stacked, and Molly Whopped him... Gonna be the champ for a long time.

Ortega got overzealous it makes me so mad that he forgot the number one rule which is position before submission. He gave up his position for the submission and that’s what cost him he could’ve let go of the guillotine and stayed on top and delivered punches and elbows from full mount that might’ve softened Alex up some but credit to Volk for not panicking in several tough spots he was squirming in that first guillotine but stayed calm and got out and reversed position. Just a great fight from both guys.

@F exactly, when Mendes took Volkanovski down, Volk got straight up, couldn't see Ortega holding even a mounted position long enough to land any affective offence. His best chances was going straight for submissions.

Volk's jab is nasty as hell, like a brick slamming into a face

those were heavy leg kicks by ortega, you can see the bruising on volkanovski's quads. he's a beast of an athlete, it's crazy how he survived a guillotine, triangle and later an arm triangle from ortega. survived 3 submission attempts. he has a short neck though that might have something to do with it, much more difficult to get hold of. also can we all appreciate ortega's chin, that guy can take a punch.

He looked so charged up at the presser I had Ortega picked before I saw Alex look like a mad viking. Had diaz to win til I saw the presser too. Volks looked amped up, diaz looked too nervous, even for nick.
