@‎ٴ shorter arms hit harder all else equal and have greater acceleration/velocity. Shorter arms also provide a better leverage for body locks and getting your hips under you after a takedown. If reach was an advantage then fights wouldn't be competitive between people with massive reach discrepancies. And yet they are at even the highest level of the sport, with shorter reach fighters regularly becoming champions.

@‎ٴ I think its incredible that people really try to say wilder has the "strongest punch" No he doesn't bro. Wilder never flatlines guys, usually scores volume punch tkos. Mike tyson (shortest reach heavyweight in history) for example hit much harder than wilder. And there have also been dozens of other boxers that hit much harder than him as well, in fact wilder doesn't even hit all that hard at all for a heavyweight. I encourage you to watch his heavy bag drills and highlights again. Francis, as well, definitely hits hard. He's also a physical specimen and lean at 265lbs of muscle. Hard to not hit hard like that. Derrick Lewis however arguably hits harder, and guess what he's the shorter reach man. There's unfortunately no way to actually know metrical however who is hitting harder, but what do we know for sure? A good indication is the fact that elbows have more force than punches. This despite the fact that elbows aren't "long" Why? Faster acceleration and moment arm as it comes with a shorter limb.

People say that couse he has a lot of records for most strikes and all that, as well as his slippong of shoots with Kattar. But boxing is not about only offence, but about defence as well, and he got cut up, battared rocked, and was eating 1 to give 2-3 in many ocassion. A guy like Petr Yan or Alex they are great at offence, but also at defence as well. I would say it's might be Petr, if we look pure boxing, Volk mixes a lot of kicks into his boxing combos, and he got hit more than Petr, also knocked down a few times. So it's close but Petr takes it, than Volk, but i don't know can Holloway be in top 5 at all to be honest

He is pretty good, but once Oetr Yan downloaded his style he beat him, with or without cardio Petr beats him. And if i remember well Alex was ina 3 round fight with him, so Aldo could go with full power. And he got KOd before, and finished by TKO. Yes he did well against Max, but Max is not the best boxer in the UFC, so just becouse he did well in 1-2-3 rounds against a guy who is not even the best in the game and than gets finished he won't be even top 5 i think. He is solid probably around top 10 top 15. But guys like Petr, Alex, Dustin Poirier, maybe even Conor, couse when he went to box with Poirier he outboxed him and Dustin got him with the leg kicks, but leg kicks are not part of boxing, so maybe Conor is even higher too. Also we can't take "what if cardio..." into the discussion, everybody borns with a type of muscle. You either explusive or have cardio for days. It's like saying "Well if Francis would have 5 round cardio he would have beaten Miocic the first time" But he has not. And in boxing there is a lot of things that matters. Your footwork, defence, offence, chin, gass tank..... Aldo is great don't get me wrong but he is not close to the best guys, he is around top 10 max

From what I remember Alex won by hugging Aldo against the cage and also landing like 50 leg kicks. The boxing was close if not favoring Aldo similar to the Petr fight. Yeah he got KO'd, by Conor... Conor is huge, I'm sure you know Conor would do the same if not worse to Petr. And Conor might be the best boxer, idk, but similar to Aldo he has cardio problems. My point is that if you look at Conor vs Diaz 1 you see Conor lightyears ahead of Diaz in his technique, distance management, shot selection, etc when it comes to the boxing side of things, but after he gassed Nate took over easily even though his boxing is inferior. But in the second fight Conor won by creating a gameplan around his weak cardio. If Aldo had done something similar and was careful with his output he'd be insane to deal with, I do see him as top 3 best boxers.

Yea people think cause he’s on the young side he’s just going to keep getting better, but if every fights a war, your prime years should by all rights be shorter, mind you, I’ve seen a few exceptions to this, but max seemed a step slower by the time this trilogy ended, I also think volk just kept getting better.

Every fighter that fights Max has their personal best strikes landed on him. Ortega, Volk, Yair, Kattar, Poirier. Max just has the unbreakable chin that lets him out land his opponents in most cases.

It’s not just his chin that allows him to out land his opponents. It’s his insane pace and elite pressure boxing. I’m not saying he didn’t get hit. He stood directly in front of him and delivered endless combos all night so yeah he was there to be hit when Kattar had the chance to swing back. That fight was the furthest thing from close or competitive. Just because Kattar landed means next to nothing when you actually watched the fight and saw how it truly went down. One guy taking 1 to land 4 and getting completely out hustled also he couldn’t match Max’s speed.

There are slow mo videos showing Max taking real fight finishing shots from Kattar square on his chin at least 1-2 times every round. Kattar was basically a punching bag for 3 rounds and he still landed well. And that is totally not comparable to Volk vs Max. Max got frozen (like Elsa? 😝) from Volk's power and elite boxing defense. Kattar is the perfect match for Max. Get a guy who consistently leg-attacks Max (like Yair or Volk), and we can see that Max is actually human.
