I know this is a song about relationship we couldn't protect. But when I heard this for the 1st time I was thinking the relationship with myself. Always got the blame , hated myself, thinking about others happiness. I didn't knew and thought about what I really wanted or where my happiness lies. I really felt sad about myself. For putting me in such situations. I was secretly hurting myself not others. At last all I got is me. Such a masterpiece ❤️

Nice song, and be reminded that apologies like this don’t necessarily cut it INSIDE a romantic relationship. Insight is not the same as action/behavior. Emotional abusers often apologise early on in a relationship and then the apologies stop, save for an occasional confession. Why do the apologies stop? It’s a story that’s as old as time: you can’t go on putting someone through hell when you profess to love them. At some point, for the emotional abuser’s ego to survive, either the person resolves to accept responsibility and change or decides that all fault lies with the other person. Fair warning, apologies like this within a relationship can be a fabulously manipulative performance to keep the person they “love” hooked into the promise of love. (The above paragraph about apologies is generally not true of physical abusers because they and their victim have a physical reminder of the abuse and that drives many to make apologies and give gifts. I’m writing this as someone who has worked in the field of domestic violence and trained mediators in mediating divorces where abuse-emotional and emotional+physical and all other forms of abuse like economic-occur.) . The song also serves to romanticise the pain of the person who put someone else through hell, possibly making him/her look attractive to others. Meaning, they’ve learned a valuable lesson and are ready to be a more loving partner. Pay attention to someone’s behavior not just their insights. Sometimes insights are just damage control. Let a confession like this (whether in or after the relationship) remind you that you weren’t deserving of being put through hell. Whatever, let the person try out their new found insight on someone else. (Let them walk their talk or not with someone else.) You haven’t wasted your time; you learned a lesson: don’t stay with someone who puts you through hell.

As someone who has been writing songs for almost 20 years and primarily written alternative music I'm kinda shocked at how much I've enjoyed Alex's music. It's so heart felt and the concept behind the songs are so clever and well realised. Just really well written songs that j can't help but appreciate. Just the attention to detail, like how he sings with more intensity when he talks about how he hated himself. It's so impactful. I think it's really important for young men to hear this stuff and to learn that it's okay to express your feelings and to be open about these types of topics. I really hope that he has a long and well appreciated career cause I think he's a pretty important artist right now.

This song gives me the closure that I need.. We were cuddling watching a movie together when he sat up all of a sudden and told me he couldn’t do relationships right now. He said the stress from work was too much and that he didn’t have enough time for himself so keeping up with a relationship was stressful. Said it was unfair for me to keep going but in that moment it was unfair for me either way.. it still is.. I cried so much after it ended. And then I couldn’t cry anymore but my feelings were still harboring my chest. This song helped me cry again and give me the closure he never could and I can finally move on..

Short story my uncle passed from cancer, my dad passed Christmas Eve due to heart disease, my brother was killed from a moter cycle accident, I've lost 2 cousins from over dose, my best friend passed from cancer, my cousin and her husband was both murder my step dad is passing at this moment that was just diagnosed with cancer but is in the ICU from chocking and there is no brain activity due to lack of oxygen so we are shutting the life support off.
