    2:33 Alexander Hamilton joins forces with James Madison and John Jay to write a series of essays defending the new United States Constitution, entitled The Federalist Papers. The plan was to write a total of 25 essays, the work divided evenly among the three men. In the end, they wrote eighty five essays in the span of six months. John Jay got sick after writing five. James Madison wrote 29. HAMILTON WROTE THE OTHER FIFTY ONE.

    You missed, among other things, the critical issue of funding and assumption. There’s also his establishment of the US’s foreign credit after the war, which saved us financially (funding and assumption was just one component of that bigger plan). You missed a lot Mr. Beat.

    Hamilton was out to end Burr’s career at any cost. He cheated at the duel by providing pistols with hair triggers, the hair triggers being illegal according to the dueling code. Hamilton could fire his “dumb” shot, meaning that he intentionally missed, but Burr could not fire one because he did not know about the hair triggers. Hamilton did not need to sacrifice his life to take out Burr because Burr was already on Jefferson’s Excrement List over that Electoral College escape that nearly torpedoed his Election to President. Though Hamilton and Jefferson disagreed on 98% of everything, they still trusted each other which meant that Hamilton broke the Jefferson-Burr deadlock in Jefferson’s favor.

    The pistols were meant to cheat but this was just cause he didn't want to die Hamilton showed up to the duel and accepted it because he saw it as an honor thing and a reputation thing which Hamilton cared about deeply he missed intentionally because killing a man was against what he believed, he rigged the guns so he wouldn't die and either way Burr chose and consciously made the decision to shoot. Hamilton was out to end Burr's political career your right cause he believed Burr would be horrible in government which I agree with but he wasn't out to end Burr's career at "any cost" he wasnt willing to die for it that is why he rigged the guns, He threw his support to Jefferson because "Jefferson has beliefs, Burr has none" Jefferson and Hamilton still hated each other but they weren't conspiring to end his whole career.

I highly recommend the book the play was inspired by if you want to know the inconsistencies, and just more information aswell. I wish I could actually sit down and talk to Hamilton, to see what he was truly like. A conversation with him would be wild!

    Aaron Burr was Hamilton’s friend

  • @nukacolanut9274

    @nukacolanut9274

    3 жыл бұрын

    “Friends” is a strong word. “Colleagues” is better. If they really were friends, then neither would have done certain political things to hurt the other. For example, when Alexander was suspected of embezzling money, Burr was on Jefferson’s side of things, and when Burr rightfully called Alexander out on certain behaviors, Alex should have taken some of his views into account. And vice-versa. I mean, I know it’s all politics and competition which is a can of worms that I don’t want to open, but it takes a friend to help each other. Not hurt each other. Really, no one was more right or wrong than the other. Hamilton was right in believing that you should always do the right thing and step up when you are needed and seize opportunities that will aid you. But Burr was also right in saying that one should always be careful and not always put the spotlight on themselves because while it may garner you positive attention, it can also get you negative attention as well. This is the case because the negative results of each person’s point happens to the other. Burr never seizes any opportunities and therefore never fully gets the recognition that he wanted. Meanwhile, Alexander quickly climbs the latter and gets too cocky which caused him to gain political opponents and he works too hard which all ended up leading to his downfall.
