It's not about taking it seriously that's just his limit
That race of pawns that had both rooks tied up and Grischuk's king racing to help out was brilliant (as well as how Carlsen managed to swoop his rook around the back of Grischuk's pawn on his end without losing his position at the other end). It is amazing that Grischuk managed to resolve that pickle and come out winning by one pawn to manage for the tie
Grischuk is one of a kind both as a player and as a humanbeing. I hope to see him in the future tournaments aswell.
Am a big Magnus fan. But it's great to see Grischuk having a great tournament so far. One of my favorite chess players. And one of the coolest guys in chess.

Would love if they added a note on the move for blunder or genius etc

This was a really interesting game. The imbalance was beautiful. Magnus was on the ropes but he managed to get a lot of counterplay with his bishop and queen side pawns.

There is no way that the pawn can go passed the king, it will end in repetitive checking and if king moves towards Magnus rok he will lose second pawn.. basically it’s draw. Too many combinations to explain here! Clear as mud? 👍

9:22 why magnus sacrificed a bishop when he could have moved it to f6, is it a blunder ??? Please explain
@sharanyughosh7589
Жыл бұрын
No, it isn't a blunder! Well, if bishop to f6, then rook to d8 check. If bishop takes rook on d8, then c7 pawn takes bishop on d8 and at the same time will get promoted to queen and Black king will be in check again. The rest is easy - white is a pawn up and has a queen against a black rook. If the other way around, like if the bishop doesn't take rook on d8, then black king being in check, will have to move to h7. Then, c7 pawn promotes to queen on c8 and then, if black rook takes queen on c8, then white rook on d8 takes black rook on c8. Again, white will be a pawn up and will have a rook against a bishop. So, clearly, white would have been at an advantage in either of the scenarios. That's why it was necessary for Magnus to sacrifice the bishop in order to capture the c7 pawn!
