That race of pawns that had both rooks tied up and Grischuk's king racing to help out was brilliant (as well as how Carlsen managed to swoop his rook around the back of Grischuk's pawn on his end without losing his position at the other end). It is amazing that Grischuk managed to resolve that pickle and come out winning by one pawn to manage for the tie

No, it isn't a blunder! Well, if bishop to f6, then rook to d8 check. If bishop takes rook on d8, then c7 pawn takes bishop on d8 and at the same time will get promoted to queen and Black king will be in check again. The rest is easy - white is a pawn up and has a queen against a black rook. If the other way around, like if the bishop doesn't take rook on d8, then black king being in check, will have to move to h7. Then, c7 pawn promotes to queen on c8 and then, if black rook takes queen on c8, then white rook on d8 takes black rook on c8. Again, white will be a pawn up and will have a rook against a bishop. So, clearly, white would have been at an advantage in either of the scenarios. That's why it was necessary for Magnus to sacrifice the bishop in order to capture the c7 pawn!
