Julie Hale he was on a celebrity song contest a year or two back where this side was shown - he did very well. 'Heather' from Eastenders, 'Alicia' (?) from Emmerdale and others were on it. I think I read recently he's about to launch an album - maybe of classicals???

What a talented chap he is, whether it's acting, presenting or singing. So many people bemoan the lack of real talent nowadays. There's plenty of very talented performers out there, you've just got to search them out. There's more to entertainment than TV talent shows.

I'm rather excited about a new CD Alexander has coming out nearer the end of the year - but I’m praying he sings more classical as he has a great baritone voice, rather than the usual ‘cross-over’ singing most talented singers choose nowadays. Anyone know which songs are going to be on it? Amazon tells you nothing but the release date... Thanks

I like this guy a lot...presenter/comedian etc. This sounds ok but Classic FM played 'Summertime' from his No1 Album...sad to say it's a dirge! He sings it way too slow...and yes I know it's not sung particularly fast at any time but trust me...it's not good...whoever produced it on the album I feel should have said...''let's up the pace a little here...'' The living certainly 'AIN'T' easy that's for sure!

@@MrPorkmann What d'you want- grand opera?? Noel Coward wrote & sang this song, perfectly, it is a love song for a city! And this chap sings it, exactly as it should be sung, in the spirit that Coward wrote & sung it! Sung in ANY other way would be a betrayal of the very identity of the song, its intended meaning as almost a soliloquy to a much-loved city!! It is shared with an audience, rather than aimed at them, rather as if we are allowed to evesdrop on his private thoughts & feelings!! The Master himself would, I think, approve of this rendition which captures exactly Coward's own personal feelings about the city that he so loved!!

And, if, Sir, like me, you have personally lived, worked & even loved in London, then this song would resonate with you personally. I also know what it is to love a city, almost as one comes to love a woman!! I lived in Bath for 20 years & loved her, too!! In the Winter, when the streets were cold with melting snow & only the inhabitants were hurrying home after shopping & the beautiful Georgian buildings & Crescents were looking mournful, that was when she was in her curlers & old dressing gown, with no make-up but, in the Spring & Summer, when the balconies were hung with bright flowers, there were concerts in the Park, the Festival, led by Yehudi Menuhin, in the Pump Room, the choirs sang in the Abbey and tourists wandered & wondered, filmed & photographed, THAT was when Bath was in her finest Summer dress, coiffured, elegant with flowers in her hair & smiling!! And that was why I loved her in ALL her moods, both happy & sad!! And I still miss her, even though I've long lived elsewhere for many years!! And that's why Noel Coward's song resonates so deeply within me because I understand how he felt about London!
