the amount of respect and inspiration I feel for and because of Alexa is truly amazing. My parents are from Mexico but they know nothing about MMA. Yesterday, I was having lunch at my moms and explained how Alexa pulled off this upset and who she was and showed them a video.. anyways, long story short Alexa inspired my mother, my sister, my brother and myself. Viva Mexico! Well deserved champ!!

I was born in Guadalajara and I am so proud of this Tapatia (from Guadalajara). She is so humble and so pleasant to watch how important family is to Alexa. Viva Mexico and viva Canada!

Being Mexican and following the sport for such a long time I honestly did not believe Grasso was going to be able to pull it off however I was still rooting and cheering for her the entire time. Before the fight I told my wife her story and her career how this was truly a David vs Goliath fight and she goddamn came through. I lost my voice from cheering and yelling so much from the instant she hopped on her back I could see Alexa was not going to yield and would indeed finish the fight.

She's awesome. This was such an exciting fight.

Congratulations to Alexa! Highlight of 285 for me watching her achieve her dream, i was worried for her going in Valentina's a legend but she was fearless and fought a great fight 👊

Been a fan since her debut. Hurt to see Valentina lose, but it couldn’t of been to a better challenger

She can be in the Hall of Fame for being the most beautiful champion too.

So am I of VS but always liked AG also, if anyone was to dethrone her Im glad it was her. The work and the intensity of that this lady puts in is Fn insane! 2d to none.

Yeah she quickly becoming my favourite person in the sport and I'm silly for not following her journey earlier. This sport has alot of ugly and moments like this make up for it and keep me coming back. 😭

shes a good fighter but I don't see her retiring as a champion. you've got val who's going to be working on all her mistakes in that fight. blanchfield, manon and talia who are all beasts in their own way. Alexa may defend against shevchenko. but I don't see a long title reign

I think she will win the rematch against Valentina. Blanchfield is so slow, she moves and strikes like Ben Askren. Manon and talia I think are her biggest threats so far

So proud of Alexa Grasso for her hard work and belief. I was looking to Taila Santos to be the one to breakthrough but it was Grasso's moment to have. Now, I'm glad she can look to shut up the critics and lame MMA fans with a rematch. This is why when so many people complain sometimes to just move on from the former champion that you have to do a rematch. Not only do champions like Valentina deserve that with their title defenses but it allows the new champs to define their era and show this belt is theirs, no luck or fluke involved. These fighters don't go into their intense training camps and give their all for nothing and these "fans" are lame to think otherwise. Legit win by Grasso. Val trains for EVERYTHING and talks about it and shows it on her social media regularly as a world class martial artist. She lost. Get over it. Good on you Alexa. You deserve it all.

Very happy for Alexa, I liked her positive but humble attitude when I saw the interviews in the run up to the Shevchenko fight, she seems like such a nice person. I hadn't heard of her as I don't follow UFC that much. I watched some of her last few fights and noticed she seemed to be improving fight by fight. I can't say I expected her to win, but I definitely thought this would be a tougher fight for Shevchenko than many expected. It was so quick that she took Shevchenko's back and got the submission.

She is adorable and a great champion. I'm looking forward to her next fight 🍻
