Thanks for the translation lol I can read Hangul (it's actually so easy) but learning what is means is a whole other game...

they do have to sing live and she was indeed singing live but the backing vocals were loud as you said. kpop artists train for years and years to dance and sing at the same time so she’s very good at that without a doubt. a little more info on alexa, she was born in oklahoma to a russian-american father and a korean mother who was adopted by american parents. she came to korea to reconnect with her korean roots and she started training which she did for 2 years and 9 months. she participated in the korean show “produce 48” where 100 or so korean and japanese girls competed to be in a 12 person member group and she placed 82nd but managed to debut as a soloist shortly after

When I saw she was on this, I freaked out because she's not only experienced in one of the most, if not THE most, competitive idol industries in the world but her talents are out of this world too❤️❤️ I definitely felt like she was one of the underrated idols in Kpop and so it makes me so happy seeing her representing her state in a brand new singing competition mirroring the Eurovision Song Contest😁😁 I hope people now see AleXa more clearly as a super talented artist in both Korea and in America 😍❤️ one thing I don't like is that on the official KZread performance, they completely butchered the translation of the Korean AleXa sings😂😂

This is so true! But for most kpop performances, the backing vocals are louder bc they are singing and dancing so much that they might sound a little breath heavy. And nevertheless they sound amazing but they use backing vocals to cover the parts they can’t quite reach cuz of dancing. But alexa sings so good!
