nooo because it would become a sport instead of what it is: an art. Then the guys with the most "tricks" would win disregarding on how well they interpret the music or how well connected their tricks are by proper foundations. I mean, that's what I see happens to gymnastics and figure skating, sports that are supposed to have an artistic side but at the end the one with the most tricks wins no matters how bad his/her choreo and interpretation

@@viviantriana5146 I mean tbf the same thing happens in dance battle competitions. Take a look at Rochka vs Paradox, Rochka wins by playing characters and doing huge moves meanwhile Paradox has way more finesse and seems more connected to the music. Guess who wins?

@chitty chitty bang bang Yes Paradox does big moves too ofc, that's a part of dance. My point is Rochka basically does a bunch of big moves/beatkills without really hitting much in the beat. Take rochkas first beatkill for example. He essentially doesnt dance to the entire intro of the song just to wait for the beatkill. Then watch Paradox and you can see he's dancing the entire intro and hitting sounds that Rochka is completely ignoring. You're 100% right that big moves don't necessitate worse dancing. In fact, large movement when used correctly can demonstrate a lot of musicality. When used simply for the purpose of playing a character or winning the crowd it doesn't interest me because they're still ignoring so much musical detail. For the record, I've probably watched that battle at least 50 times. Both dancers are nice and can be learnt from. I'm not trying to act as if Rochka has bad musicality because he does "beatkills". You need good musicality to beatkill well. My point is in his rounds he essentially only goes for beatkills and ignores a lot in the music.

@@garethreynolds9061 nah bro Rochka straight up won that battle dance-wise. New shoeless Paradox has lost a lot of impact, he can't do hard hitting moves with just socks so it limits his variety. Rochka has all kinds of moves in his arsenal, from smooth to hardhitting while 2019+ Paradox is mostly smooth moves. It was a close battle but Rochka edged him out on dynamics and variety.

remember this... try dance with more rhytm is very hard only trying take beat... this example alex last round but this 2 guys have full different styles... and very strong ... for me its draw last round but the floorwork trying new concepts of alex is very very strong ... only congratz him for exceptional work and paradoxx we know is very good feeling too

Alex style is smooth man. He making it look eazy but its not eazy .. He dances with the soul and making so nice concepts. The transitions he make are SMOOTH! For me Alex is one of the kings of freestyle :)

Wasn't there but based on the footage 2016 SDF really belonged to Paradox. I think he's been the best at almost all the events but I'm a fanboy too though. :) But at the end of the day the good vibes and people is what matters. Peace.

Tristan Lovell yeah man some of these are practiced shorts sequences or short choreo. Like paradox explains that he creates and practices short routines on KZread. A lot of dancers do it. Les twins , shaadow sefiroth etc. it adds to their dance vocabulary

A lot of dancers practice some sequences beforehand to know ahead of time how to transit between sets of move, especially if you are going to switch your flow (like going for upright movement to ground floor). But at least 80% of the rest is freestyle.

problem of alex, when he goes on the grownd he damn stay waaaaaay to long, 2nd round paradox won so everal paradox won can't have a tie break again after this round

I see your point but tbh groundwork is one of his strengths. Even if the move looks simple, its his execution that makes the difference.

UNIVERSE OF DANCE A matter of taste I suppose. I meant that the beat is overly simplistic with not enough tics and change ups to make for a good dance battle. Also, if this came on a club, would people rush to the floor? Not great for a battle or just to get hyped to in general. That's just my humble opinion.
