The guy on the right goes to shake the winners hand and never even acknowledges Gaur. The winner takes the hand shake, and avoids making eye contact with him as well. When the show cuts to the commercial break, Alex can be seen walking directly up to Gaur, not to the 1st place contestant or 2nd place contestant...that makes Gaur the winner. Good stuff.

You know - what's funny is - I feel as though the show is quite a cycle. NOT just in how it builds its questions, but in how it answers our own. I will miss his albeit not often used sense of humor. We miss you.

The two other contestants didn't even acknowledge the one in the middle after. How sad.

@@drae408 That seems pretty unfair to say. We don't know how they interacted afterwards, and to me it looked like the guy on the right was trying to keep himself together (just like Alex was). He tapped the table when the other man said it, and you could see him choking up a little when giving his response. Judging them for not acting how you think they should on live TV is peak KZread comments section. For all we know they all started bawling when the cameras stopped.

Just heard the news that Alex has passed. I immediately thought of this sweet moment. RIP Mr. Trebek.

That such a simple message made him so emotional proves how must this show and fans of Jeopardy meant to Alex. It’s true. We love you forever, Alex! 🙌🏾

Truthfully, I think Trebek was made for nightly news that Lester Holt and Brian Williams has been presenting. Trebek has the natural voice for it.

As far as I'm concerned, what dude in the middle wrote and how it made Alex feel is worth more than any of those other numbers. Bravo!

The day Alex trebek doesn’t host jeopardy anymore is the day I stop watching it.

I started watching Jeopardy when I was a teenager in the 80's and would watch it every day when I got home from school. I still watch it regularily today. Alex seems almost like a family member even though we've never met. He will be dearly missed when that day comes and nobody will be able to replace him. That will be the end of the show.

@@exclamationpointman3852 No I would definitely disagree with you there. Maybe you could easily be replaced at your burger flipping job. But Alex Trebek is Jeopardy. It's more than just talking to the guests and telling them whether or not they got the answer correct, it's his personality and extensive knowledge base and allow him to make interesting anecdotal references and commentary on why the contestant chose the answer they did.

Alex Trebek is like the Fred Rogers of game shows. He, like Fred Rogers transcends the platform he is on and demonstrates what character and goodness are all about. He will become the standard by which everyone else is judged. He is a National Treasure and my prayers go out to him and his family. I wish he was in contact with Dr. Mercola because Mercola is on The Cutting Edge of so many Innovative treatments and would probably be able to give him the best advice possible on the planet while he is going through his treatment. I hope somebody already reached out to Dr. Mercola about him.

Vikki Nicholson Also notice at the end, the other two players just ignored him and shook hands with each other. Good character traits are not of the flesh but the Holy Spirit. Sometimes I open the door for people and instead of showing gratitude they act it's expected.

Because they played the game they got on the show to do and a contestant who had no way of winning is some spiritually annointed saint and was raised with blah blah blah because he chose to show Alex love? A workday night of jeopardy without Trebek never seemed like a real possibility. My grandmother watched jeopardy regularly and through her I have been watching for well over 25 years. While she has since passed on the every night ritual of jeopardy has not. Trebek is a legend. I would never wish cancer upon anyone.
