@@WhitePony-zu5pi Ferguson's chin never left. Hell he never even fell in losing to Gaethje. The kick Chandler landed that put him down would've put down anybody, and I mean anybody. Took Beniel and Olivera to decision, and Nate had to choke him out. Where did Ferguson have no chin? More of a straight ability/skill/fight IQ decline

When this fight finished, you could see the damage felt by Silva. Yes he took those shots but man he looks destroyed, actually felt bit bad for him.

@@EarthenGames That was actually quite shocking to witness. Silva looked a shell of himself in that fight and while GM3 isn't a bum, he's no world beater either. I think he came back too soon after that shellacking he received from Pereira, plus his confidence must have been destroyed as well since he gave everything he could and still got beaten handily.

@@omarihoward8168 I love Brunson and watched all his fights. Brunson in his prime would give Pereira a lot of problems, but now he's slower, leaves his chin up and gets knocked out easier. He'd be too timid to strike with Pereira as well. Pereira could shut down Brunson's takedowns with a left uppercut, a lead flying knee, or stuffing the takedown & then clinch striking him. But Brunson is always dangerous. He has a good straight left, southpaw left hook, good takedowns, good top control, submissions & ground striking. If Brunson was to beat Pereira, I wouldn't be surprised but I still think that Pereira has better odds of winning against an aged Brunson Edit: I forgot to mention that if Pereira gets hurt, he will probably look for the clinch or move away, but he is aggressive and chances are he may look for an opportunity to counterpunch even when he's hurt. Brunson on the other hand can always resort to his Wrestling when he's hurt (you'll see that at beginning of round 2 against Kevin Holland)

When you know someone has a wicked left hook and make your entire defense around preventing it from landing, it opens up opportunities for other shots to get through--straights, uppercuts, etc. And once you get hurt with those other shots and are forced to defend against them, then the other guy can look for that opportunity to land the left hook. Like even against Adesanya, Pereira didn't initially hurt him with a left hook, he got him with a right cross which then opened up Adesanya to the left hook once he was a bit compromised.

Besides the obvious point of him being a MASSIVE middleweight, he will resort to other tools (like body kicks and knees) to open up opportunities if he can't find them through his boxing. Of the opponents he's KO'd, the ones he didn't get with his hooks he got with his knees. I agree with your second choice though. That's probably why a guy like Whittaker has the best chance at beating him--you have to respect his striking but he has great wrestling.

Round 3, Alex Pereira stuffed 2 takedowns really well, throw a left hook that looked so fast and subtle but it did so much damage, later he landed a short lead left uppercut which also did a lot of damage, he also started moving his head, leaning away from punches while trading punches in the pocket He got tagged a lot in round 2 but became a monster in round 3 This man has ridiculous punching speed and power with good cardio because he started picking up the pace more in round 3 Even when he hurt Bruno Mars, he didn't lose control. He was still picking his shots carefully to the body and head

Thoughts

Silva fought really good even when he was in danger. When he was hurt he was either throwing or shooting for takedown. In dangerous situations he fought way better than Adesanya.

There are two guys who truly represent their nicknames, "Poatan" (Rock Hand) and "Blindado" (Armored) Bruno is really armored, heavier guys have fallen with this hook leftt of Poatan and the dog endured everything. Congrats Bruno Silva!

This is a dumb comment. What exactly do you expect a high level fighter to do? It's like saying Floyd Mayweather has no guts for stick and moving with his Philly shell, shoulder roll defense. This is a chess match. Not rockem sockem robots.

The ufc or the commission or whoever is rigging the scales, these guys are clearly in different weight classes and there’s no way Alex can cut so much and then put that much weight back on in 1 day and be healthy
