Whats interesting about the cut tasks is the scoring on Taskmaster actually matters, its taken seriously as a competition unlike most panel shows. Often the winner is decided by a small number of points over second place. So by choosing certain tasks over others it could change the outcome of the series!

tbh I think most tasks might be disqualified for things like this here, that make the producers a bit nervous about airing it. If there are about 10 tasks more than are shown in the final edit, that's 2.5 per comedian to cock up. That doesn't seem like a lot tbh. Especially considering some of the comedians that have been on.

Even if just as a youtube special but honestly this is the only show that I know of that aired on TV and then landed on KZread as well which to me is amazing because normally you see a funny show once and then it never airs again which makes them no money at all. It really makes me wonder about the season with Daisy May Cooper. I think the first task of the first episode everyone was disqualified (make the cup runneth over). It may have also been in that first episode that no one actually completed the task (get the most egg in the pan). Did they have tasks that people actually would have scored points and decided to go with failed tasks?!? Granted, there were a couple of funny bits in what was aired, but it was fairly annoying to have a couple of pointless tasks so close together.

  • @findmeinthefuture.

That was the first COVID season, and some tasks were clearly affected, considering some of the contestants were filming before social distancing and some were filming during it (as we saw with the group tasks). So I wonder if some tasks had to be scrapped from the get-go, and they didn't have enough successful ones to fill the show with. They may have also had more of a strained production schedule and couldn't film as many extra tasks. Also, with that group's track record, I wouldn't be surprised if they just failed so many tasks that they had no choice but to include a couple in the cut. That or the results of some tasks were too boring to include and they'd rather show the failures than those.

Ed did 42 tasks? But there are 10 episodes per series, and a minimum of 5 tasks per episode...?

I think he meant recorded ones - first one is a prize task and the last is a live one - so only 30 make it to the final episodes.
