See, its shit like this that is people believing that Djokovic gets “east draws”. He makes the competition look weak. Djokovic just demolished Alex!!! That was brutal! What makes him so good is his technique. In every shot, he hits the ball perfectly, so he's always confident on his shots. Alex just didn't believe in himself to go for the lines, so Djokovic was always in control. Clinical win for Nole.

The problem for DeMinaur is that when he is not on the run he cannot generate heavy spun shot to stay in rallies. His game is all about redirecting pace. Novak made sure to just tie him up behind the baseline and not allow him to hit any shot while on the move. @@eyeofhorus1301 Return, Serve almost as efficient as Feds. Fed has a better forehand, but not by a lot. Backhand better than Fed, pretty much every type, more consistent, more powerful, better shot tolerance. Djokovic improved his volleys, not quite as good as Fed, but much better than before. Besides these groundstrokes, moves better than Fed. More mentally clutch than Fed. Adapts better to different styles and surfaces than Fed. And has broken pretty much every single record Fed had, some even by a significant margin. The only thing Fed has on him is he looks more stylish on the court. Is not a better player than Djokovic on clay, is not a better player than Djokovic on hc. Not even better on the grass in my opinion, although i will not disregard how good of a career Fed had on the grass just because Djokovic smacked him h2h. These two players are not comparable bud, in anything. One is simply obsolete in comparison to the other. Its like comparing Fed and Sampras. Can you really say Sampras was better than Fed. Yes, Sampras had his strengths, and for me is the best player on grass still. But, overall, Fed is way more accomplished. Now, if you like the way Fed is playing, that is another matter. That is a matter of personal preference. But records in tennis dont lie, at least not until last year, when its showed that even stats can be manipulated to trick the average joe into thinking in a particular way. So, suit yourself. Think whatever you like. But facts are showing a different story.

This was Novak's revenge for Alex's words about Novak during the whole Covid debacle. Alex is probably thinking - message received, loud and clear.

Who's that?
This has been a warm-up for Djokovic's next match against Rublev. If Nole keeps playing at this God mode, his wife had better go making room on the chimney for another GS.
Novak was always gonna have the last laugh
At this stage of the championship, the question is who is capable of stopping Djokovic.

Out of the remaining guys, only Tsitsipas really has even a fighting chance, or maybe someone like Shelton if he has the best serving match of his life. I think Rublev simply isn't consistent enough over the course of a match to win, though he perhaps could take a set if he has a purple patch. But realistically the chances of anyone beating him while he's playing like this are somewhere very close to zero. Shame a healthy Alcaraz isn't here, he perhaps could have made it interesting.

At this stage of the championship Djokovic had an easy draw not playing against any top-20 player until Rublev. His next opponent Rublev barely beat Rune (who had beaten Djokovic in a recent final). I wonder if Nole would have beaten Rune if he had Rublev's draw?

You have 3 dangerous opponents still in the draw- Rublev, Kachanov & Ben Shelton.
This is one of the most comprehensive and complete tennis game ever from the 🐐 Novak!!
Djokovic realized that with fed retired he’s easily the best attacking tennis player on tour. Demolition right here

How is Novak doing this without shooting up the magical myocarditis mixture?
Nadal is watching the match in pain and feeling lucky dropping out in early round to avoid another match up lost
Uff, quite a beating! Coming to 22...
Brutal, De Minaur had no chance. Treasure the moments left with Rafa and Djokovic. Roger has already bowed out and age is clearly catching up to these men, which is really sad for this sport. Perhaps Alcaraz will save us from one-dimensional players in Tennis in the near future. Roger, Rafa and Novak truly special geniuses of this sport.
Djokovic knows best (eyes to see, ears to hear and heart to understand)
Was De Minaur even trying really to move Djokovic side to side? Or was he simply hoping to trade blows mostly? Because it doesn't look like he's even really able to hurt Djokovic. Djokovic looked like he took everything and just overpowered him.

Djokovic actually used a strategy of just stifling Deminaur at the baseline. He basically didn't give deminaur much chance to hit from side to side much. That's de minaurs big weakness, his inability to generate a heavy ball when he is not on the move
