it's his shoes...they have a special heel on them that attaches to the board he stands on. Michael Jackson actually patented a design for shoes that interlock into inserts that were on the stage.

Micheal Jackson used the same method when he did the lean. There would be little rods that come out of the stage floor and his shoes would hook on to them. This guy was using the same technique.

I don't get why people need to get fake shoes so they can hook themselves up to the board and make it look like their doing the move I mean I'm 12 years old and I have almost got the move down I just need to balance my self out a little longer and I will be finished and I do the move in Nike runners.

PSA: This is the way Michael Jackson did his lean. This is not some cheat method, but simply the only way it is possible. Michael would have an area with bolts sticking out of the stage so that he and his dancers could lock in their special made boots. Watch enough live smooth criminals and you’ll start to notice that getting stuck for a second was quite common for the back up dancers.

Hello Alex :) Congratulations for your videos :) Do you use any kind of Ankle Support or just the special shoes with nothing more...i have a pair, and i'm start doing it...but when my back foot lifts up inside the shoe, together with the fear of falling prevents me from going further...it's really like this it's supposed to feel?
