I know it's not necessarily your style but have you ladies ever thought about doing a mashup of your cover and the original?

I have been a Metallica fan since 1986 and this cover is among the best I have heard. Cookie cutter musicians can parrot someone else's original all day long, but when a musician can take a cover tune, make it their own while still maintaining the integrity of the original, that is genius. Bravo to The Warning.

This is how you honor a classic without copy pasting.

For those of you new to The Warning- you would love seeing their videos from when their weren’t even 10 years old. I can’t remember the KZread video- but you just have to love how they developed their talents and are so close as sisters but share the limelight. I have three daughters and love seeing that bond. We haven’t even seen even the best from The Warning- no doubt we will be loving their music for decades.

People always forget what Metallica was always about, doing things different. Same people who put an acoustic guitar ballad on a metal album, had a 8 minute bass solo as a single, had an unheard of Lead bass approach in its first three albums, Put a love ballad in a metal album. The Blacklist is an absolute representation of what Metallica is musically, and it's amazing to see such bands and musicians get center stage to make different kinds of covers under the supervision of the original artist.

Honestly I think this cover is fantastic but I'll still revert back to the original because a cover just can't top the original no matter how good the cover is example kills cover of holy diver I think that cover is great but I'll still pick the original 9/10 times

Then they must hate the rest of the album. With the exception of Wezzer's cover all the other songs are even more different. This one feels the same as the orginal just with female vocals and Weezer's is like the Can I copy your homework meme, only adding the Buddy Holly rift

first time listening to The Warning on Spotify and when this song came up, I immediately stopped what I'm doing. This is a very creative cover and very good execution. I'll be front row when you're in my area. 🔥🤘

I gotta be honest I love Metallica but this version of Enter Sandman WOW blown away better then any I've heard before. The Warning and Alessia Cara knock this out of the park! They totally own it they recreated this amazing song and made it better. It's incredible The Warning is going to do amazing things going forward they are awesome keep rocking!

I’m addicted to Alessia Cara’s voice. I had no idea who she is till my daughters were like “ oh yeah we know her. She is awesome.” Have you other Gen Xer’s checked out her independent stuff. Plus her “ singing impersonations on Jimmy Fallon.” Between these three super talented sisters and Alessia, I can’t say “ no good music since the 90’s”.

I mean we can't forget how legendary the 2000s were though amy Lee took the genre and lit a fire we also got disturbed seether avenged sevenfold linkin park limp bizkit korn and many more.. the 2000s was a legendary generation for most genres honestly producing some of the biggest hits to date

I don't usually like covers much, espeeeeecially when a new interpretation is recorded but wow, THIS is a definite exception. I'm only two years behind discovering this but glad I did. I worked on the air in radio well over a decade during the original's era, both in rock and classic rock, and loved the original when it was released. This is equally outstanding!

I've previously said that The Warning is the best band that has emerged in the 21st century. But not only that, I think they serve as inspiration to everyone, not only musicians from little young girls to old guys like myself, it takes quality and hard work to achieve a mastership in anything you do. And these girls were blessed by the gods of Rock to bring the Metal that the world so badly needed, just because of their hard work.

This is PURE ROCK !!! These three sisters are in sync ! Like a master blacksmith that takes different metals (influences) puts them in the crucible, works the metal and out comes the finished product, pure energy !!! They ARE STRONG !!!

I’ve been in TWA for the last year and I’ve been trying to get the local radio stations to give the band some airtime. I recently asked an on air personality to play this song on their show; they didn’t commit to anything but they didn’t say no either. If they play it and I get the slightest ember of interest to ignite, it’ll eventually become a wild fire. More people in my area need to get familiar with The Warning.

...and this is how you "make it your own". Bravo!!

Okay, for anyone that has played a guitar for a good bit…..that fucking verse riff she’s playing is not easy. And then, AND FUCKING THEN, she sings the way she sings whilst playing it. Been long time since I heard a song that personified the very concept of what music is. I just saw this band live tonight, and they sound this good live. They were crazy fucking good. Now I’m here.

I saw them twice in May in small clubs, up close. They are 3 rock MONSTERS. Pau on drums is a force of nature. Ale on Bass is a groove machine. And Dany on Guitar is Wonder Woman. All three sing like angels. Their songwriting is second to none. And all three are gorgeous, sweet, funny, charismatic, humble, hardworking young ladies. They are going to take the world by storm! Future Legends!

Being a Metallica fan since the mid 80s, this is badass!!

I love, love, LOVE The Warning! They are super talented!

I've been in love with this band for a few years now, and this full circle performance just seals the deal for me. Sometimes it feels like The Warning is single-handedly keeping the fire of real guitar-based rock music alive! This version of Metallica's classic has it's own spin, but then tips its hat to the the original song's vibe in the end. Gave me goosebumps. These women "get" rock music, show deep respect for what came before them, and are simultaneously blazing new trails about what rock should be in the 21st century and who "gets" to play it. I'm a fan for life.

Well, this girls are the same girls on that viral video from eight years ago where three little girls was playing enter sandman; at that moment Lars praise them, but about this reinterpretation, Metallica has not said anything specific, but this is part of the official album of tributes to Metallica, produced by Metallica, so, they invited them, and from the whole album this song is the one that has been used the most in the media (after the Miley Cyrus's "nothing else matters" of course), so I guess they think something good about it.

Lars’ instructions to the artists invited to perform on the Blacklist album was to take the original and turn it inside out and upside down, and make it their own. They were one of the few groups that did just that (and it is the first track on the Blacklist album). 😎

These ladies are like Midas. Whatever they touch turns to gold. My only suggestion would be to add another guitarist, to add a rhythm guitar part, and do the wall of sound. Not forever, just for now, to free up Dany and ALE beat the atmosphere DEEPER into submission. Pau already drives the air into incandescence.

its because they made it their own. instead of following Metallica's cord and notes, and lyrics eactly, they changed it up, made it different, but not ruining the originals meaning and style. it's a perfect recreation and cover.

This is not a cover so much as a complete and amazing re-imagination of one of the greatest songs of all time by a fantastic new band.

As a guy who picked up his first guitar in 1965 I’ve seen them come and go, but you guys leave me speechless. I’m so glad to see young people come along who’ve embraced the genre with such self determination and brilliance. I feel as if I’m watching the emergence of the Beatles, Zeppelin, or Sabbath all over again. Stay fierce and true to your goals, and most importantly to yourselves. The Warning Band has renewed my love for Rock and Roll.

This gem from The Warning & Alessia, along with Rodrigo y Gabriela's and Chris Stapleton's contributions, are my favorites from the Blacklist.

These girls took one of the best metal songs of all time and put their own spin on it, and as a Metallica fan, I love it!!! Rock On!!🤘

That's probably one of the most original takes on that song that I've ever heard.

When they write a song, usually one of them comes up with an idea: A chord progression, a melody, some lyrics and they all work it out from there. I am amazed, how well they were able to transform this modus operandi to this song. They kept the melody, lyrics and chord progression, but changed everything else: New riffs and leads, new bassline, new drum patterns, completely new arrangement. Actually a totally different song and probably the most interesting one on the Metallica Blacklist album. And they did it all (writing, recording, arranging (Alessia Cara was in Canada and they were in Mexico due to Covid restrictions), mixing, mastering) in less than a week. Also this song was used by Marvel, Fox Sports and Netflix. 2.6 mio. views on KZread, 5.1 mio. streams on Spotify... Great success and well deserved. 🙂

Where’s the lead riffs? Oh that’s right they/she couldn’t handle them so the intro riff is all they could put in it? Really, it’s not a cover it’s a non metal remake of a metal song, nothing less nothing more without a guitar lead, show me a song where a metal song doesn’t hav3 a lead by a metal band…I won’t hold my breath.

Saw them yesterday! First time I had ever even seen them and they really impressed me with this cover. I'm not a huge fan of Enter Sandman cause I've heard it so many times now but this cover was really good. I think their stage presence really brought it all together too.

You should listen to Type O Negative and how they do cover songs. They make it their own thing but make it sound absolutely amazing! They took a 2 minute Black Sabbath song and turned it into a 8 minute dark beautiful gothic song lol. 🤘🤘🤘

I agree. when bands just do a cover just like the original, it's just pointless. You gotta make it your own somehow. It can be close, like you really got me by van halen, but you have to tweak it somehow. How many artists have repainted the mona lisa?

This was a nicely done song. I really like the creative reinterpretation. I like how they ended with "the riff." Very nice!

I have 61 years old, and those girls have stole my HEART (since I get in LOVE with the Wilson Sisters, Nancy and Ann)... Their Rock Queen's predecessors!!! I fell the same ROCK POWER but NOW in a full girl BAND! The still base power of the incredible bass soul of the "little" DRUMS sister... And the wonderful base guitar of the first sister!!! And the ascension of a more mature middle "blonde" sister in the vocals from the original KZread cover from almost a decade ago!!! GO GIRLS, you shock my older rock HEART!!! GOD BLESS YOU THREE!!!

I've been reading some of the back and forth comments about the collaboration with Alessia Cara. First of all, I think it is an incredible song and video. Quite possibly a "break out" song for the band. I don't want to rain on anyone's parade, but the band absolutely has to broaden their appeal in a BIG way. The Warning Army are great (I'm one), but we're a drop in the bucket compared to the potential fan base out there. So collaborating with a Grammy award winning artist on a song that will be included on an album that will get world-wide coverage and distribution is a stroke of genius. Let's not kid ourselves: "hard rock" doesn't have the same appeal (or fan base) that it once did, So experimenting with new sounds and genres doesn't hurt. And there's no shame in doing a cover. The Rock Hall of Fame is full of rock legends who gained a name for themselves by doing a cover of another band's song. So kudos to DPA, Moni, Luis, Rudy, and David Bendeth for bringing this all together. And whoever suggested the collaboration with Alessia Cara is a goddamned hero.

This. It never hurts a band to collaborate with other artists. This has a different sound from The Warning's other songs, but it also doesn't in that their songs all differ. The video's brilliant in its own right, but it also shows some hustle on their part that a lot of the better known bands didn't bother with. I'm not too surprised that this has more dislikes than most of their other songs. It's an indication of their willingness to take chances and do what they think is right, even if it's not everyone's cup of tea. The fact that this is so different from the other covers of Enter Sandman (and the original) is bound to make some of that. Be all as it may, I think this is an absolutely superb piece that I can watch and listen to repeatedly.

They should remain doing what they've been doing why? because it's working out for them, there's a huge audience for Rock in general including hard Rock, there's the argument of there being a void to be filled because there's not enough female representation in Rock music and thats true, what better way for this amazing band to become ambassadors of a new Rock wave, there's plenty of fans and potential, my opinion 👍

Yours is a great perspective. What is interesting is I had no idea who Alessia Cara was and nearly every KZread reactor who has reacted to this version had no idea either. Therefore, the crossover potential for both the Warning and Alessia Cara is incredible. What makes this haunting re-envisioning of the classic anthem special is the soft (ghostly) blending of Alessia Cara's vocals with the edge of Dany's with Pau and Ale providing the backing (I'm sure both Alessia and Dany are layered in there too). Further, the ladies played the instruments behind all of it. This version takes us on a journey literally from "exit light" to "enter night" and transitions in tempo as well as from Alessia to Dany seamlessly. It's a work of art.

My favorite is Mon Laferte's with her andino style for Nothing Else Matters (Nada Mas Cuenta). That's a style by our indigenous people in Latin America which bands like Los Jaivas and the sort from Chile and other places in Latin America would fuse with their music to create such magical sounds ahead of their time. We are really happy she proudly represented for this cover hopefully bringing it to a larger audience to enjoy. ❤

I just finished watching the last episode of the Netflix show The Imperfects and surprise surprise, my favorite Enter Sandman cover starts playing during the last scene of the show as the credits start rolling. That just made an already enjoyable show that much better. Such a shame that the show was cancelled.

You should listen to their originals, they have 47 in 1 EP, 2 singles and 3LP

I knew Enter Sandman since I was 7, but now I’m addicted to this song because these girls , I saw their original cover in 2016, but when they performed it live for muse the song clicked in me

It was the last months of 1988, ... and justice for all! had been released a couple of days before and I persuaded my parents to travel from Monterrey, Mx to Laredo, Tx only to buy the CD. Since then I've never been so exited! The Warning has become my favorite band and I would wait a lifetime if needed. 😎🤘🏽⚡

I didn't have to leave the country to buy my first metal album but my parents wouldn't buy it for me so I got a paper route and saved up for a stereo and 4 cassettes in 1983 to buy Kill Em All, Speak of the Devil and Piece of Mind... I was 13 then 51 now and still the dame level of excitement waiting for the new music from The Warning. I wish I could be able to see Metallica and The Warning play the same show. Hopefully one day. I first seen Metallica in '89 in Halifax NS Canada, 4 more times since.

I absolutely LOVE this! As an old Metallica fan I thought this was amazing! In the gourmet food world, this would be known as a "deconstructed dish", and what you served up was most certainly gourmet! I was also pleasantly surprised to see Alessia Cara in this. Absolutely well done! I also just realized you are the girls from the viral "Crazy Train" video. So proud of all of you!

Wow, Wow, Wow!!!! I know that Alessia was the invited artist in this project and she shared the opportunity with The Warning but this rendition is an All The Warning Rendition. The vocals, specially, the harmonies with Alessia are amazing. The song structure is definitely a The Warning song in my opinion. Bravo ladies!!! Ale in the middle while they walk is stunning. Amazing rendition of a R&R classic. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻
